Remember a few things about buying blemish/scratch/dent items from us:

1. All items are 100% functional. A non-functional item is garbage, and that's where it goes. These items only have cosmetic issues.

2. We do NOT provide photos of the actual item. We're already losing money - I am not paying someone for even more time to prepare a whole new listing with new photos, etc. The blemish is DESCRIBED. If this isn't sufficient for you, I promise you will not be happy with a blemished item. You need to buy a new, unblemished item.

3. There are no returns on blemished items.

We are seeing very slow service from USPS on a lot of packages. And as we state in our shipping notification email, when USPS picks up, the package ALWAYS says "acceptance pending". It always has. My local postmaster blames his equipment.. but you'd think after 15 years he'd have new equipment by now? Apparently not.

See screenshot below.... yes, a package really can show no scan for over a week and not be lost. We are seeing this regularly the past few weeks.

Soooo..... at this point, if you need something by Christmas, there is a chance. But I wouldn't count on it.

Here is a handy but slightly convoluted way to get automatically notified when we get an item back in stock.

As you know, our site hides any item that is out of stock. There are pros and cons to this - but personally I think the pros win. Namely you aren't having to scroll through a bunch of stuff that you can't buy.

But with our current system, the way it hides items preserves the SEO data, and thus if you do a Google Image Search of the item you want, you can get to that listing on our website.

See screenshots below. In the first, I have searched for "dyno brake guard blue" and several versions of blue dyno brake guards come up.

If I click on one, it takes me to that Out of Stock listing at porkchopbmx.com (see 2nd screenshot). Then just click the big blue bar that says "Send me an email when available" and enter your email address and you will automatically get an email when stock is available.

Obviously this is an extra step versus just clicking on an out of stock listing on our website, but we have about 2000 listings that are "out of stock" and by hiding them, it reduces clutter and frustration.

And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make an account when ordering. We've had several more folks who have typo'd their email address and are confused on why they aren't getting tracking and confirmation emails.

Short version: We finally have the "correct" gold cable end tips to match other Dia-Compe products!

These are now the only option of gold in our brake cable kits. You can also buy them individually or by the bottle.

Long version: We've been buying direct from Dia-Compe for about 13 years. And for some reason, their gold end tips have never matched the other Dia-Compe products. If they arrive too dark, I let them know and the next batch will be super light. Two shipments ago (May 2023) I received a batch that were perfect. Finally! So I let Dia-Compe know and asked if I could get a bunch made in the exact same color - and those arrived in October. They are also perfect.

I finally got around to taking photos of them (1st photo below). And I've taken all of the dark gold and light gold ones (2nd and 3rd photos below) and deeply discounted them so the "wrong" golds will sell through quickly.

We know these sorts of details are important to our customers so even when it takes a while to get something right, we keep working at it until we make it happen.

I hope everyone had a great holiday yesterday. I know you are on the hunt for deals today but we are not running a Black Friday sale. As we announced back in July, that was our one sale of the year.

But I do have two gifts for you:

1. The teaser pic below of new stuff from Dia-Compe that will be here in March. We never tease stuff (and we sure af don't do preorders) - but this looks so amazing I could not resist posting.

2. If you place an order at least $75, we will send you a free t-shirt - all you have to do is put your t-shirt size in a note at checkout. This will be good through Monday, November 27th at midnight. We will choose the shirt you get.. most likely it will be a Ham Jam shirt because we are almost out of stock on most other designs. As always, this will generate complaints from folks who just placed an over-$75 order recently.. and if that's the case, in the next order you place before 12-31-23, mention the date of your over $75 order you placed (if it's within 1 week of today) and shirt size and we'll send a shirt.

If you're wondering why we don't do many sales... the biggest reason is it is hard on our employees. Being flooded with orders just adds stress and increases the potential for errors. Doing very few sales is my way of making Porkchop BMX a great place to work. And since we don't do fake pricing (i.e. higher pricing that allows us to mark things down and pretend like you're getting a great deal) we really don't need sales.

Just a heads up if you are near Cartersville, Georgia (which is half way between Atlanta and Chattanooga)... or have friends and family in the area... please come see us at our sister shop (Cartersville Bicycle Service & Supply) for ridiculously good bike deals. There are some BMX bikes.. but mostly it is mountain bikes, road bikes, comfort bikes, and fitness bikes. There are over 200 bikes we're looking to clear out before the end of the year - many are half price. If you can find a better price on any of these bikes, we'll match it (but I don't think you will be able to). Limited to in stock bikes only (so has to match size, color, etc.). We have no more bikes coming before the end of the year. Once these are gone, they are gone.

Since some still don't seem to understand why we're tired of dealing with international buyers... here is a great example.

The funny thing is, he chose eBay International Shipping at checkout. Since eBay says we can combine those now, we shipped his order to eBay in one box. eBay (or technically their vendor Ascendia) removed them from the box and shipped each one to him in Canada separately. Then he complains about the price he agreed to pay for this service (which he knew about BEFORE he bought).

It gets old, people. Just nonsense complaints from ignorant people for no reason.

After years and years and years and years... we finally got a very close match to Odyssey blue first gen cables (but even then, there were two different blues that Odyssey made). And pastel pink!

HAM JAM LAYOUT!

Registration starts at 11AM (Sunday, October 15th)

Swap spots are open to anyone who wants to rent a 10x10 space... whether you're selling stuff or just want to have a family reunion. Just, PLEASE PLEASE, remember your 160lbs of ballast (40 lbs per corner) if you bring a tent.

I am putting together these swag packs right now! Here are how the raffles will work tomorrow. We have a lot of great prizes to win including some Motomag III's, a GT pro series complete bike, Porkchop ladder bars, and of course a bunch of GT and Dyno seats (plus many more items).

But let's say you win a raffle and whatever the item is for that raffle is something you're not interested in. You can opt to take one of these 12 swag packs instead. Included is a Ham Jam number plate (it is only in the swag packs, it cannot be purchased), a bunch of stickers, a one-time 25% off coupon with no minimum or maximum to be used before the end of the year on our website, a voucher to redeem at the registration table for any Porkchop shirt of your choice, and finally a pass to join a VIP tour of our three-story, 135-year-old building that houses Porkchop BMX, Cartersville Bicycle, our sticker production, our number plate and brake guard production, etc. It all happens in this huge 18,000 square foot building and 12 people will get to see it all access. I've received questions about parking - below is the situation. All the green is free, public, all day parking.

Orange is free, public parking but there are signs that say 2 hour limit. I've lived here almost 50 years and have never heard of that being enforced. BUT... be considerate of the restaurants open in that big southeast orange box. It's northeast counterpart has nothing open on Sunday so it is a better choice if all the nearby green stuff is full.

Red is private property - and I fully support the property owners towing anyone who parks there. These are my neighbors and I don't need a bad relationship with them because you didn't want to walk 50 more yards to the show.

If in doubt - look for signs.

If you have a trailer or a brodozer - get there early and you'll have plenty of room to park within 1 block. If you get there later, you'll still have plenty of room to park... but it will be 2 blocks away.

Speaking of getting there early. The show is 11AM-5PM. That worked great last year with folks registering starting at 11AM. However, I'm hearing from a lot more people and I think we may have a bigger crowd this year. Therefore, our goal is to have the registration table fully up and running by 10AM. Once registered, you will be directed to where to set up your bikes (which is dependent on category) and/or your swap spot. If you try to squat before registration, most likely you will just have to move.

Food trucks and beer should all be up and running by 11AM. Band starts playing just after 12PM when Patrick "Stay Rad" Miller and Eddie Fiola welcomes everyone to the show.
