I cannot believe we have just over two weeks left in Texas before we make our way to and settle down. We closed on the new house last week and are waiting on a quote for some renovations! We have never anticipated being in one place long enough to invest in big renovations so I’m excited to really put our own touch on this house.

Happy Fathers Day to all the good ones out there but especially this one! I’d argue he’s the best around, tbh. He is truly the heart of this home, the glue that holds us together, all the cliche saying are true when it comes to him.

The Facebook memories feature is one of my favorite things. Also a nice positive side of social media to balance out all the negative it has 😅 It’s so hard to believe this was 3 years ago…..it feels like no time at all has gone by but I some how have BIG kids now. Photos like this one are exactly why I started photography. It’s candid, authentic, nostalgic. Sitting on the tailgate, a classic childhood memory. Here’s to summer nights spent making more memories just like this one.

I adore this woman for so many reasons! I’m inspired by the career she has built while crushing motherhood and I’m constantly inspired by how she supports the women around her. The sweet relationship she has with her daughter makes me look so forward to when my own girls are older! Built in best friends.

The move back to North Carolina is coming up quickly now and though it’s bittersweet, I can’t wait to be back among the pines and surrounded by the greatest community I’ve known. Small town living never really was my thing but oh how my heart yearns for it now. That sweet slow way of life is all I need. I’ll be accepting bookings from all of my beautiful clients beginning in August

I'm feeling especially sappy today as one tends to feel when they go down memory lane....It gets me every time! It's not a sad sappy, its more of an adoring and gratitude filled kind of sappy where you realize just how wonderful and profound things have been for you even through the roughest of times. Truth is....I have a dirty secret to share....sometimes I'm afraid what I do professionally doesn't quite matter very much. Its a really hard thing for me because If I share any part of my life with the world, if I take time from myself and my family, I want it to be for something that matters. While working on my website I came across the years and years of photographs I have taken for people and oh how seeing them all filled me with such a reassuring sense of purpose. I know my clients look at their photos and cherish them the same way I look back and cherish photos of my own family and that definitely matters
