Wake County traditional school schedule starts in one month! Are you ready? Don’t forget your school forms and sports physicals. Rising kindergarteners, 7th graders, and 12th graders each have required vaccines. You can check your immunization record in the portal!
They should be up to date with all infancy vaccines, as well as
✏️DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis), polio, MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), and varicella (chicken pox) for kindergarten
✏️Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) and meningitis for 7th grade
✏️meningitis for 12th grade
The Surgeon General issued a new advisory about the effects social media use has on youth mental health. Childhood and adolescence is a critical stage in brain development and can make young people more vulnerable to the harms of social media. 🎇 Keep the magic, but stay safe! ✨ Sparklers can bring joy, but they also pose risks. A burning sparkler can reach 2,000 degrees and can cause second or third degree burns instantaneously. Don’t let children hold sparklers or other fireworks.
Even though it’s the start of summer, it is not too early to start thinking about those daycare, kindergarten, and sports forms!
