Dia De Los Mu***os (The Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday often celebrated by families visiting the graves of their loved ones and setting up altars with their favorite photos and food to celebrate the lives they lived. The rituals of the celebrations date back to the era of the Aztecs other Nahua people in Mexico. Often life-size papier-mâché skeletons and miniature plastic skeletons are used as decorations. This helps remind people that death is just part of life.

Filipino American History Month (FAHM) has been celebrated since 1992 when the Filipino American National Historical Society introduced FAHM. In 2009 U.S. Congress officially recognized October as FAHM. FAHM is celebrated in the US during the month of October to commemorate the arrival of the first Filipinos who landed in what is now Morro Bay, California on October 18, 1587.
