This is such good news for The Fine Arts League of Cary and for our arts culture in Cary. We participated in the Americans for the Arts study of non profit arts and culture industries across the nation. According to this study, “the non profit arts and culture industry in Cary generated 31.6 million in economic activity during 2022. “
“$10.6 million in spending by arts and culture organizations and an additional $21.0 million in event-related expenditures by their audiences.
That economic activity supported 588 jobs, provided $25.5 million in personal income to residents, and generated $6.9 million in tax revenue to local, state, and federal governments.”
“Arts and culture organizations contribute to community pride in the Town of Cary.”
82.9% of arts and culture attendees agree that the activity or venue where they were
surveyed “is inspiring a sense of pride in this neighborhood or community.”
79.8% agree that “I would feel a great sense of loss if this activity or venue were no
longer available.”
69.4% agree that the venue or facility where they were surveyed is “an important
pillar for me within my community.”

Here is your 2023 Board celebrating the significant contributions that Lindsey Chester has made during her term as our Communications Chair. So many initiatives she accomplished in such a short time! To name a few: Establishing the communications process and team (huge!); setting up our social media; reconnecting us with Lazy Daze and Spring Daze; the plethora of new printed material we have including signs, brochures and business cards; connecting us w Canva, Quickbooks and her bookkeeper! Plus lots of behind the scenes business process projects like our Sponsorship forms, our calendar and our BUDGET, the board applications; using her brilliant networking skills and broad established contacts to connect us with many opportunities; oh, and submitting our Town Grants! I’m sure I’m leaving some important things out. THANK YOU Lindsey for volunteering your remarkable time and talent to our communications! You have set us up really well and we are grateful! 😘
At our FALC GALA yesterday we celebrated our 30th year as a Cary non profit arts organization. We honored 2 of our founding members: Rocky Alexander and Joyce McKee. Scholarships at our annual Teen Exhibition will be given in their honor.
We also revealed the winner of the Mayton Holiday ornament contest- congrats to Eugenie Lazcano whose winning art will be reproduced on holiday ornaments for sale at the hotel this season.
