Genesis is pleased to invite you to a new program at White Plains UMC called WELCOMING WELLNESS. The goal of Welcoming Wellness is to provide resources to parents, grandparents, caregivers, friends, and allies of persons struggling with mental health issues.
One element of this program is live monthly speaking events with experts in this field. These are hybrid events that can be attended live or via zoom. Video recordings are available after the event at WelcomingWellnessNC.com
The next speaking event is this Sunday August 25th.

Every year, at the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church Annual Conference, we have the chance to be a blessing to the community and the world through a designated outreach project. This year, we are collecting prepared Menstrual Hygiene Kits (a huge need for those in emergency situations or without housing). Last Sunday, Pastor Shawn wrapped up the “Whole” sermon series with a profound message on the power of genuine love. He explained how God uses genuine love to transform our lives and restore our relationships. This transformation reaches beyond ourselves, influencing those around us, helping us recognize the divine image in everyone. Pastor Shawn emphasized that this could be one of the most significant contributions we, as the church, can make to the world today.

Please join our friends at White Plains UMC in Cary as they launch a new mental health initiative entitled Welcoming Wellness….Empowering Mental Health. This initiative is designed for caregivers/parents/grandparents/friends and allies of adolescents and adults experiencing mental health issues. Monthly presentations will be given by professionals in the mental health field covering all aspects of the challenging journey from mental illness to mental wellness.
