Surgeon education is important to me. Learning how to operate involves spatial and kinesthetic ability, which is why residency and fellowship is so critical in surgeon training. For surgeons who can’t be physically in the OR, virtual reality videos are an invaluable learning tool.

Honored to serve as invited faculty at the 11th annual Allergan Surgical Solutions Symposium October 6-7, 2022 in Las Vegas. Over 200 surgeons, fellows, and attended to learn cutting edge surgical techniques in aesthetic plastic surgery. We discussed managing complications in aesthetic breast surgery, and demonstrated how to perform and techniques in the cadaver lab.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is an annual reminder of a problem that exists every month and day of the year. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men are subjected to domestic violence during their lifetime. This is a “silent epidemic” kept secret for many reasons, often until it is too late. If you or someone you know is in an abusive situation, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline or a local domestic violence shelter for help. You never know what others are going through, but if you suspect someone is in danger, reach out to them to offer support and encourage them to get help. We must be the voices for each other to end domestic violence in our communities.

Dr. Wu attended the Aesthetic Meeting in San Diego last week. She served as a speaker for the Residents and Fellows forum as well as a moderator for the breast scientific paper session. It wasn’t all work, as she and her fellow female plastic surgeons banded together as the Robert Palmer girls in a “Battle of the Bands: 80’s vs. 90’s” competition. 🩺👩🏻‍⚕️🎸
