Earlier this week our staff gathered to celebrate two special “birthday boys” this month…Senior Pastor Stephen Davey (who turns 66) and Executive Pastor Les Lofquist (who turns 70)! 👏🏻The treats served were a combination of some of their favorite salty and sweet snacks! 😋 Please join us in wishing them both a very Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂

This past Sunday we got the privilege to honor one of our own — Dr. Gary Hallquist, who is retiring from ministry here at The Shepherd's Church. In his 14-year tenure, Gary has served in a variety of roles, including worship pastor, care and counseling pastor, and also as a professor for Shepherds Theological Seminary. 👏 Gary and his wife Sherrell have been a tremendous blessing to our church, and we will most certainly miss them! 🥹 During the service, Gary (who is affectionately called "Pastor G" for his soulful sounds on the saxophone), played "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"...a testament to God's faithfulness, and a reminder of God's provision and purpose for us in every season of life. We wish Gary and Sherrell the very best in their next season as they move to Alabama to be closer to family. 🥰 🙏

Our final Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) spotlight this summer is on "Lifespring" — a group designed to encourage each other to develop and maintain a deeper study of Scripture. The interactive lecture supplements the Bible study, using a Q&A time to stimulate critical thinking. Lifespring members also enjoy fellowship outside of class. Check out the video to learn more!

Are you an older single looking to connect into community at The Shepherd's Church? Our Singles Adult Bible Fellowship is a great group that meets Sunday mornings and is comprised of older singles who gather to study God's Word through discussion and small-group studies as well as presentations. This week's Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) spotlight is on "New Season" — a class focused on embracing God’s plan and presence in every new season of life. The joys, sorrows, and challenges of each new season are made better through this strong community of faith. Yesterday was "National Typewriter Day," and a few years ago, our orchestra performed this fun little number for their annual Pops Concert! 😅👏 Mark your calendars for their upcoming "Pops & Praise" concert on July 30, which will also feature our choir and praise team! Can't wait to hear what they've come up with to inspire and delight us this year! 🎼❣️
Well, VBS may have ended today but the eternal impact of this fantastic 4-day event will live on forever! 😃The kids had such a wonderful experience learning about the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness and the battle that rages for the souls of humanity. They learned about putting on the full armor of God and how to put our trust in the One True King of Kings! 👑✝️ Check out this recap from today’s finale!
