This Challenging semester is wrapping up and Casper College Advanced GIS class held its annual presentation session. Congratulations on all the hard work the students put into this semester. A big thank you to all who came out to support the class.
These semesters projects include:

Project #1: A group of 3 students did a mapping project for The Natrona County Road Bridge Dept. They were tasked with mapping and cataloging all of the recreational signs on the Casper Mtn Area. These include hiking, camping, trail, and road signs just to name a few. To accomplish this they used an app called ArcGIS Collector which was loaded onto their smartphones and they GPS'd the location of all the signs. They also collected information on the condition of the sign. This data is eventually uploaded to a master database with the county.

Project #2: A group of 3 students was tasked with building what is called a "StoryMap" for the Werner Wildlife Museum on the Casper College Campus. This StoryMap will contain maps of where many of the animals reside that you would see if you went to the museum. The story map will also contain information on all the exhibits in the museum and can be used as an introduction for people to look at before physically going to The Werner Wildlife Museum. The students have created a poster for this project and you will be able to see the story map as well.

Project #3: The student who worked on this project lives in Meeker, CO, and works for the local Bureau of Land Management (BLM) field office in Meeker. As part of her duties, she did logistics for the wildfires that were so prevalent in that area this summer. The student created a story map to showcase maps and information on the work she did with the BLM and the wildfires. It's a very interesting and informative story map showcasing a natural disaster that we are all familiar with within the West.
