Fall blonde refresh 🍂✨
Our goal was to go slightly darker for fall without more maintenance or getting rid of the blonde completely.
We went 1 shade darker than her natural color on her base and touched up the highlights around her face.

You don’t have to go darker just because it’s fall 🍂 As far as I’m concerned, highlights will always be in season 🍂

I hope you all made it through the storm ok.
We were lucky and made it through much damage, so I’ll be working my regular hours next week.
For those you you who weren’t so lucky, I’m waiving cancellation fees this week.
I still ask that you give as much notice as possible for cancellations/reschedules because I do have a waitlist for this week and someone else may want your spot.
Wishing you well
xoxo
When your hair is very dark, going lighter is a huge commitment.
Here’s what you need to know if you’re thinking starting the process:
* warmth is part of the process and usually unavoidable for the first session or 2
* it’s going to take multiple sessions
* your appointments will be long (multi-hour)
* maintenance is required; dark brown or black to blonde is HIGH maintenance hair and requires regular tones, touch ups, and care at home
Our goal was to go lighter, cooler, and remove that band of color in the middle.

If you like to wear your hair in a ponytail, highlights on the back hairline are essential ✨
No matter what color your hair is, it will only look good if it’s healthy ✨
One of my favorite things about going from blonde to brunette is all that gorgeous shine✨

When looking for inspo, it’s important to consider how you typically style your hair.
Highlights look just as good on straight hair as they do on curls, which makes them a great choice for people who prefer to wear their hair straight.

Ever wonder what the maintenance would be for a look like this? 💚💙💜
💚 Fantasy colors fade really fast, so you’ll need to touch up the color every 4-6 weeks.
💙 The highlights themselves will need to be touched up every 8-12 weeks.
💜 To help prevent fading and keep your hair healthy, you’ll need sulfate/silicone-free shampoo & conditioner, a leave-in conditioner, and a moisture mask. You’ll also need to limit heat styling and wash no more than 2x per week.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off ✂️✂️✂️
Purple shampoo can’t make you blonder.
If used correctly, it can be a great tool for maintaining your existing blonde between appointments but it absolutely cannot lighten your hair.

Coloring your hair darker doesn’t necessarily make it low maintenance.
If your hair is naturally light (blonde, gray, light brown, or red) a solid dark brown or black color will need to be touched up every 3 to 6 weeks.
The best way to achieve low-maintenance hair is to keep it dimensional and close to your natural color
The only way to get rid of split ends and fix damaged hair is a haircut ✂️🎨✨
Here are the 3 things I love most about being a hairstylist:
1️⃣ I get to be creative. Hair color is a little bit of science and a little bit of art and I love creating a custom color for each and every person that sits in my chair.
2️⃣ I get to help women look and feel their best. The way we look has such an impact on the way we feel. I absolutely love when new hair gives one of my clients a little extra confidence.
3️⃣ I truly have the best clients. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I genuinely like each and every one of my clients and I get to spend my days with so many interesting people.
Have you ever wondered what the maintenance would be like for a look like this?
While there is no one size fits all plan that works for every client, this is what I’d suggest:
- a balayage session every 6 to 9 months
- gloss & haircut appointments between balayage sessions
- high quality products to use at home: shampoo & conditioner, a moisture mask, leave-in conditioner, & a purple shampoo
The foundation of your home care routine is a quality shampoo and conditioner.
Using the wrong products could:
-make your color fade faster
-damage your hair or make existing damage worse
- cause dry scalp and irritation
- expose you to toxic chemicals, like formaldehyde witch can make your hair fall out and has been linked to cancer

The best way to achieve low-maintenance color is to keep it dimensional and relatively close to your natural color 🎨✂️💖
All color fades.
Permanent color is called permanent because it permanently alters your hair. Not because the color lasts forever. It doesn’t.
The best way to keep your color looking fresh is to schedule a gloss every 6 to 8 weeks✨
Want to know the secret to perfect blonde all summer long?
1. a gloss appointment every 6-8 weeks
2. leave-in conditioner, so your gloss lasts longer and we save your hair from breakage and heat damage
3. a weekly moisture mask to protect your hair from the sun, salt air, and sweat
I’m always happy to provide product suggestions and you can use the link in my bio to book your next gloss appointment ✨
I am absolutely loving the red hair trend ❤️ If you’re thinking about going red, there are 2 things you need to know before you do it:
* Red is a color you need to be sure about. If you choose a dark or vibrant red, going blonde afterwards will be difficult if not impossible.
* Red fades quickly which means you’ll be in the salon more often and need to shower with cold water, invest in high quality shampoo & conditioner, avoid swimming, and avoid heat styling.
The sun, salt, & chlorine can all be hard on your hair.
When you’re at the beach or pool, tie up your hair and wear a hat to keep it out of the water and sun.
If you can’t avoid wetting your hair, use a leave-in conditioner or fresh water to help prevent damage from the salt and chlorine. 🏝⛱ ☀️
What is the difference between blonding and highlights?
is for people who want to go blonde or go a lot blonder ⚡️
are for people who want to maintain blonde or add dimension ✨
