This Monday at the Castro Valley MAC meeting (6pm at the CV Library or via zoom—item #4), we will see proposed plans for the old Rite Aid building’s transformation. The old Rite Aid building has been the talk of the town since I have lived here in wanting a great upgrade for the community….I’m glad to see how much input the new property owner has sought in seeking input and listening to the community in trying to bring in some great additions to town. I hope there will be support for the landscaping, pocket park, and building plans in this whole new look along the key corridor! Castro Valley will benefit when the town becomes more of a DESTINATION people come to, versus a path to commute to work or out of town. Your support and input would be very helpful in moving this upgrade forward this Monday.

- Shortly after 7:30 this morning, the driver of a blue Honda Civic driving on Redwood Road struck part of the Todd Anglin - State Farm Insurance Agent building while avoiding another car making an unprotected left in the opposite direction. According to the CHP call log, no injuries were reported and CHP are sorting out all the details. This is a great reminder to slow down and be more careful while driving in the rain.

- The Rotary Club of Castro Valley has set the stage for their second "BBQ Axe Brew" event on Friday, May 10 at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo park in Dublin ! During the event, registered teams compete for cash prizes for axe throwing and corn hole (a game where players or teams take turns throwing bean bags at a raised, angled board with a hole in its far end) competitions.
