SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Tomorrow, Friday, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, also known as the Feast of the Sacred Heart. During this feast, we recognize God's divine love for humanity in Jesus' physical heart. The devotion especially emphasizes the absolute compassion, long-suffering, and love of the heart of Jesus for humanity.

~~All are invited on Friday, June 7th, for the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.~~

*7:00 AM to 6:00 PM - Join us for Eucharistic Adoration where we will recite 2000 Hail Marys in honor and in reparation to the Sacred Heart, for the needs of our community.

*6:30 PM - Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for all those who have prepared for 33 days with reflections given by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to St. Margaret Mary

*7:00 PM - First Friday Mass in relation to the Sacred Heart

Mañana, viernes, celebramos la Solemnidad del Sacratísimo Corazón de Jesús, también conocida como la Fiesta del Sagrado Corazón. Durante esta fiesta, reconocemos el amor divino de Dios por la humanidad en el corazón físico de Jesús. La devoción destaca especialmente la compasión absoluta, la longanimidad y el amor del corazón de Jesús por la humanidad.

This upcoming Sunday is the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In the Gospel we'll hear, "“Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many.” (Mk 14:22-24)

This Sunday we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity. In the Gospel we'll hear that Jesus’s final command to his followers is to make disciples of all nations and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. How can we encourage others to follow Jesus?

We hear how the Holy Spirit allowed the mighty acts of God to be heard by people of all languages in every nation. Where do you see God at work in the world or in your workplace?

Like a stool that cannot stand on two legs alone, we need the Holy Spirit. The third Person of the Trinity is the puzzle piece whose testimony completes the beautiful picture of salvation. Let us never fail to say: come, Holy Spirit!

The Fátima children, St. Francisco Marto, St. Jacinta Marto, and Venerable Lucia dos Santos, ages 7-10 years, impacted the world after the many apparitions of Mary they experienced. They shared Mary’s call to pray the rosary and for peace in the world.

The feast day of Our Lady of Fatima is on May 13th. This day commemorates the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917.

The Virgin Mary appeared to Lucia dos Santos and her two cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, on six different occasions between May 13th and October 13th, 1917. Mary revealed to them a message of repentance, prayer, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart. She also showed them a vision of hell and a way to avoid it through prayer and sacrifice.

The message of Our Lady of Fatima has become one of the most important and popular apparitions in the Catholic Church. The shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal is visited by millions of pilgrims every year. On her feast day, the Church honors the Virgin Mary under this title and encourages the faithful to follow her message of prayer, penance, and devotion.

May this day be a reminder of the beauty and dignity of motherhood. Let's show our appreciation and gratitude for all the ways that mothers enrich our families and communities. Today we pray for all those who serve in the role of Mother.

With praise and thanksgiving, the Diocese of Austin celebrates the ordination of Scott Fyall, Kingsley Ohaeri, Ladd Spears, Michael Noriega, and Michael Rhodes to the Order of the Diaconate on May 18 at 10:30 a.m. by Most Reverend Joe S. Vásquez, Bishop of Austin, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church - Austin, TX. God willing these men will be ordained to the priesthood in June 2025. Please keep these men in your prayers!
