🔦Refuse to Use Spotlight: Gluten🔦

More and more products advertise themselves as gluten-free, and you may think to yourself: "Why was gluten in this product in the first place!?"

Gluten has been used as a binding and thickening agent to keep products from separating. In addition, wheat/oat derived products are commonly used for their conditioning properties to make hair "thicker" and "stronger".

Products containing gluten and wheat protein can cause a reaction since skin is porous and can absorb what is being applied. Hair care on the scalp and lower neck can cause reaction for those who are gluten-sensitive or Celiac.

As a company who is dedicated to keeping clients and stylists safe, refusing to use an ingredient as common as gluten was a no-brainer!🫶
