Lots of fun planned this weekend at Art of Joy! Friday we’re welcoming back , a singer/songwriter and private vocal and acoustic guitar teacher from Waukesha, WI. Catelyn has performed throughout WI, IL, & IA and plays a versatile mix of pop, country, & rock music. Saturday brings our new friends AJCJ, childhood friends from Shorewood and amazing musicians who play jazz standards and your favorite songs from the 70s-90s! Our friend Chef Nicholas Arnold of is back this Friday with some delicious offerings! Come out between 5 and 9pm and leave the cooking to the chef!

On Saturday, July 27th is throwing a dog party! A big dog party! Big dogs, little dogs, red dogs, blue dogs, yellow dogs, green dogs, black dogs, and white dogs are all at a dog party! Stop by Art of Joy at the end of the K9 Carnival parade where we’ll keep the party going from 4-6pm. We’ll have some fun festivities for you AND your pups! Our friend from Laughing Dog Studios will be here offering caricatures of your pet. We’ll also have a pupper selfie station, treats for your pup, and a delicious Kat cocktail the Barkberry Bramble!

Saturday we have a real treat! Our new friend Murphy , American Idol fan favorite, amazing singer-songwriter, and all-around great guy will be playing 6-8pm.

Sunday we have a very special ticketed fundraising event for the charity supporting our dear friend Hope Kittel and her service dog Neeko! This is a Sips N’ Songs event arranged by MKE singer-songwriter and good friend , it will showcase 8 singer-songwriters in the round who will each perform their songs and share stories, the event will end with a special acoustic performance by Milwaukee band Alley Eyes. A talented singer-songwriter from Baltimore, Maryland, Murphy is a songsmith with a unique story that has sent him on a journey in life that only few have experienced. For the past 8 years, Murphy has traveled across our nation playing his music to all who would stop and listen. From New Orleans to Santa Barbara, New York to LA, Murphy makes his living playing his distinctive style of folk, soul, rock and roll on the streets of America.
After moving to Seattle in 2020, Murphy auditioned for “American Idol” where he became a fan favorite following the performance of his original song “The Painted Man.” Fans of the show cried out at his departure, so much so that it led to him performing in the show’s 2021 finale.
“Commanding the audition room with his distinctive voice and style, Murphy delivers a performance that is unique, inspiring and positively original.
