Ninth graders connected with professionals from a variety of industries during the Growth Career Round Table Event on April 18. Fifteen local businesses and organizations engaged with students to answer questions about their respective fields and job qualifications.
Students were grouped together at tables as professionals rotated through every 10 minutes. The ninth graders followed a list of guiding questions about what training or education is required for their job, what everyday skills are used and what advice the professionals would give to someone looking to get into their industry.
Join us in wearing purple on Friday!💜
Congratulations to the top of the Class of 2024, valedictorian Alexandra DeMatteo and salutatorian Tori Rudnick!🎓
Throughout the school year, eighth graders have actively engaged in service projects to better the greater community. They have fulfilled volunteer opportunities, organized fundraisers and constructed meaningful projects as part of the IB Middle Years Programme.

Second graders at Clayton Huey Elementary School saw their artwork come to life in the building’s annual Monster Match with Center Moriches Middle School. The elementary students drew their own monsters, then their designs were sent over to the middle school. The older students then used the drawings as a template to sew customized stuffed animals.
The High School robotics team, Infernobotix, had a successful season, ranking third at the Finger Lakes Regional in Rochester, and first out of the teams from Long Island. Prior to that competition, Infernobotix ranked 10th at the South Florida Regional and won the Autonomous Award.
This year, the team’s robot had to be designed to shoot 14-inch foam rings into a goal placed seven feet in the air. The team worked together to design the robot with sensors and cameras to be able to shoot from any position with high accuracy. At each competition that Infernobotix participated in, the team stood out for its high accuracy and the wide range of positions the robot was able to score from.
