Dr. Mohr (Professor Mohr) recently took students in his Herpetology class out to a wetland ecosystem in an attempt to find the elusive spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum). No salamanders were found this time but they did see evidence of male salamanders leaving spermatophores out for the females they courted the night before. To read more about breeding behavior, see https://www.virginiah**petologicalsociety.com/amphibians/salamanders/spotted-salamander/index.php
Dr. Mohr (Professor Mohr) recently took students in his Herpetology class out to witness the explosive breeding behavior of wood frogs (Lithobates sylvaticus). These frogs will gather in the hundreds for a very short time period to court and breed and then go back into the surrounding habitat.
