Pennock's Ed Minner helped deliver and serve up 100 bags of much needed food to the Newark/Bear community. All the food is donated and distribution is done in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Newark, The Hopp - Harvest Outreach People Project and Tree of Life Church in Bear Delaware.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and with cyberattacks against businesses rising, now is the perfect time to reflect on how to protect your team from cyber risks.

Consider these stats:

💻 Ransomware attacks have increased by 93% in 2023, with 54% of organizations experiencing a cyberattack in the last 12 months.
💻 Only 8% of businesses that pay a ransom get back all of their data.
💻 43% of cyberattacks are aimed at small businesses, but only 14% are prepared to defend themselves.
💻 91% of cyberattacks begin with a phishing email.
💻 85% of organizations experienced more than one data breach in 2022.
💻 In the US, the average cost of a data breach was $9.44 million in 2022.

Did you know one in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime? And even more will know or love someone fighting this destructive disease.

That’s why, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to raise awareness about this form of cancer. Take a look at a few key facts below:

💝 One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.

💝 The average age of diagnosis is 62, but breast cancer can occur at any age.

💝 Early detection is key to survival. When breast cancer is caught before it has spread to other areas of the body, the five-year relative survival rate is 99%.

💝 As such, it's important to talk to your doctor about any risk factors and get regular mammograms once it’s recommended you do so.

💝The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommends women ages 50-74 with an average risk receive a mammogram every two years. Women ages 40 to 49 should talk with their doctor to determine when to start and frequency.

💝 There are many effective treatments for breast cancer, and the survival rate has been steadily increasing in recent years.

Cybercrimes cause businesses to lose tons of money annually–and unfortunately, criminals just keep getting wiser 💻💰 That said, here are a few emerging tactics to be on the lookout for:

🔒 Smarter phishing. Phishing emails have been around for years, but now they’re geo-targeted and more personalized. You also need to watch out for it on social media and messaging apps!
🔒 Increased attacks on specific sectors. Healthcare and higher education have been targets in recent years due to relaxed firewalls during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the residual effects remain.
🔒 Targeting mobile phones. Global smartphone ownership increased from 49% in 2016 to 83% in 2022. Unsurprisingly then, mobile phones are increasingly targeted, with common attacks including malware, data tampering, and data loss.
