Thymus vulgaris, also known as Thyme is an amazing ally to have close by in the coming winter months! Yes, we are already talking about winter!! Thymus vulgaris is well known for its antimicrobial, antiviral , anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and expectorant properties to name a few. Thymus vulgaris can be used in teas, tinctures, soups, infused oils and vinegars, and much more. Our favorite way to use thyme is to infuse it in local honey or as an elixir. Thymus vulgaris is easy to grow. This woody perennial has a hardiness of 3-11 (USDA zone) and grows well in a container. I highly recommend growing this wonderful herb in your garden or inside your home in a sunny window! We will have tinctures and teas available Saturday, August 26th at the Friendly Festival in Hay Springs Nebraska! Come check us out!!
