Two beautiful end tables… sanded the top surface and base, polycoated both of these surfaces to reveal their gorgeous wood veneer, and applied black kettle enamel on several edges to help accentuate the piece.

The pedestal itself is still the original color for a sense of history.

A blank slate

This MCM desk was missing a surface to write on and I found a spare dining room table leaf. I wanted to do something with it and kept looking and looking…and then I saw the grain…the circular movements…then I saw it…WATER

…and the rest was history 🙂

UPDATE… the round table has been sold before it got delivered to the store in Carlisle, but the dresser is still available

Today…these two beauties are being relocated to the Carlisle Antique Mall…if you are looking for that special something

A wonderful repeat client and now…friend…had asked me over the last year to refinish several pieces for her before she and her husband move down south to their new home.

This time, she wanted to see if this dresser could be lightened up. After closer inspection, there were little specs of a beautiful color peaking through the well worn varnish. After many hours of sanding, the hidden gem was revealed and polycoated.

We agreed to keep the hardware as-is because it’s aged patina holds years of loving memories.

(On a side note…we have no clue what the story is with the random looking upper left drawer..😂…again this piece is filled with many memories ❤️)

A sweet lady from Carlisle had an old box that belonged to her mother…she used it as a cute coffee table in her living room but she wanted it to be updated while preserving its inherent warmth.

After many hours of scraping many coats of lead paint and sanding this well worn cabinet with aged dents and nails, the cabinet was whitewashed and polycoated, the brass was sanded with specs of the old paint still peaking through, and new solid accents.

Is it perfect? No…but it’s about the memory of its engrained scars that makes this a winner ❤️
