WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO SHOP SMALL BUSINESS? Below is a partial communication from a company that I've done business with that has manufactured in the US since 1976......

As you may know, the landscape of trade and commerce is ever-changing. Unfortunately, several significant challenges have made it impossible for us to continue operations:

1. Tariff increases exceeding 25% on imported goods under List 3 of the Articles of China.
2. A four-month shutdown due to the pandemic in 2020, which significantly impacted our operations.
3. Ongoing post-pandemic supply chain issues, resulting in delays of up to four months, have adversely affected our e-commerce rankings and sales.
4. A dramatic rise in ocean freight charges from an average of $3,500 to over $24,000 per container.
5. A diminished and unstable U.S. labor force, with labor costs increasing by 44%.
6. Shifts in the market where Amazon has increasingly favored overseas vendors, leading to lowered prices and quality within our category.

These challenges have grown too great to surmount. As we prepare to close our doors, we are reminded that every flag eventually must be folded. But each fold is a mark of its story and legacy.

We are immensely grateful for the support and partnership of each of our wholesale accounts and artists over the years. It has been an honor to decorate the lives of so many with a splash of color and a touch of care.

Though it is hard to say goodbye, we are hopeful that our paths will cross again in the future.
