It's almost Cardinals week at camp! Our staff's favorite week of summer is when our Cardinal friends join us for camp. This summer they will be joining us for 2 weeks!
Their fearless leader, Lillie, has written a bit about why Cardinals week is so special -
This Camp was originally started by an OCS special education teacher and has continued to grow with the help of New Hope Camp and the community. This camp allows for students with moderate disabilities to have a full camp experience. There are not as many Summer options for students with disabilities, especially locally. The Cardinals bring light to all the campers and allow for more all around inclusive experiences. The Cardinals talk about camp all year long. The smiles on their faces throughout their time at camp is truly priceless. They get to make memories that will last a lifetime, that they couldn’t normally get anywhere else. We are asking that you help send some of these Cardinals to camp again! Please considering donating specifically to the EC Scholarships.

Our Story
In July of 1946, the committee on Religious Education of the Orange Presbytery began seeking land that the Presbytery could use for conferences and youth camps. Land was donated and purchased by the Kirkland, Tapp, and Craig families of the New Hope area and New Hope Presbyterian Church. By 1950 Camp New Hope was up and running with Pioneer Camps, ministers’ retreats and family camping. Over the years, as Presbytery lines changed, Camp New Hope’s ownership was shifted to Salem and New Hope Presbyteries. In March of 2003, New Hope Presbytery opted to sell Camp New Hope to New Hope Presbyterian Church located adjacent to the camp. The name was changed to New Hope Camp and Conference Center, Inc. to better describe our activities. New Hope Presbyterian Church now owns New Hope CCC and leases the camp to a board of directors made up of representatives of six area Presbyterian churches.
New Hope Camp and Conference Center is nestled in 165 acres of rolling hardwood forests. We have a trail system on which many kinds of wildlife can be found. Take a trail walk to one of our two ponds and you are sure to get a first hand look at our wildlife. Tadpoles and frogs are just the beginning. We have many unusual plants and trees as well as many deer to catch your eye. New Hope CCC is home to deer, snakes, beavers, rabbits, birds, and many other North Carolina inhabitants.
