Our goal is to give our clients great service at a reasonable price. Hours are not posted as they vary daily depending on client needs.

We are "by appointment" but walk-ins are welcome to stop in if we are in the salon for an appointment. We work hard to get our clients scheduled in a timely manner but at times, because of Lenise's shorter schedule, it may take a few days to get an appointment with her. Feel free to call Lenise at 785-479-1826 to ask questions or set up an appointment.

Joshua update.

Last week Josh had a heart cath done to check pressures and to check for blockages in preparation for surgery. They didn’t expect to find anything but wanted this done just to be sure. Everything looked good but his recovery has been a little rougher the he expected. He’s still pretty sore. We also met with the surgeon last Wednesday. He said that the chances of repairing Josh’s valve are pretty low and he expects to have to replace it, either way it will be an open heart surgery. If he can repair it he will but is not expecting that to be an option. They haven’t set a date yet but they’re planning to have it done in the next 2-3 months. As always I greatly appreciate your support and understanding of my schedule changes as we navigate thru this! ❤️

Josh’s scope showed the results we expected. He’ll need either valve repair or valve replacement. He has a heart cath January 23rd to check the pressures in his heart and we are waiting for a call from KC to get his surgery scheduled.

Yesterday we lost Josh’s sweet Pa. Please keep Josh’s mom and all of our family in your prayers. We went to NY when the girls were babies and I am so thankful for the sweet memories we have from that time. I only got to see Pa a few times in person but he always made me feel like I was one of his own. He loved all of his family big!Talking on the phone with him we were always in tears from laughing so hard. I will miss hearing his voice and laugh. You can see in the pictures how much he loved his great grandbabies and he loved all of his family the same way. Rest easy Pa, I’m thankful I’ll have you to greet me at the gates some day. ❤️

“I will praise You in this storm”….

Josh finished up his 6 weeks of antibiotics on Friday and they removed his picc line. He also had a tooth pulled on Thursday that we believe was the source of his strep infection. No thanks to the doctors but thank you to friends and google for figuring that out! Yesterday he had another TEE (scope) to look at his heart and we’ll see where we go from here. They’ve previously said most likely valve replacement.

Over the weekend we lost our sweet yellow lab Gunner. He was Josh’s buddy. We got him as an 8 week old puppy 8 years ago. I’ve never been a big dog person but he sure held a special place in my heart and changed my mind about inside dogs. We’re all pretty sad.

We also have 2 close family members fighting for their lives right now (one on each side). My heart hurts.

The storm is strong right now. We’re doing our best to get thru each day. Most days we do a pretty good job. The days that are a struggle I do the only thing I know and that’s praise Him in this storm.

So while scopes aren’t fun and heart surgery sounds scary, I will praise Him because it’s much better then planning a funeral. Losing our sweet Gunner is hard, but I will praise Him for giving our family 8 years of joy, for opening my eyes and heart to what loving an animal is like. And while the thought of losing our loved ones shatters my heart, I will praise Him for the gift of eternal life, for the thought that while I want them here on earth, they will get to see the sweet face of Jesus and be there at the gates to greet me some day.

I will praise You in this storm. ❤️

Thank you to everyone for all the love and prayers for Josh. We appreciate it more then I could even begin to express!!

He saw his cardiologist yesterday. The plan is to repeat his echo in 4 weeks and repeat a TEE on December 14th after he is done with his 6 weeks of antibiotics. At that point they will see how extensive the damage is and go from there. She said she couldn’t say 100% but most likely he will need a valve replacement (surgery). His damage is severe and she said the worst she has ever seen in her career. She was actually shocked at the severity of damage to his valve. So for now we continue daily antibiotic injections, weekly labs and dressing changes, and wait and see.

We serve a MIGHTY God and I know His hand has been on Josh and our family thru all of this. He is our ultimate healer and I have no doubt that He will heal Josh, either thru His hands or the doctors. He already has protected Josh and our family in so many ways. God is good all the time.

I truly appreciate your prayers. We feel them. Lots of asked what they can do for us and honestly we can’t ask for much more then prayers right now. Josh has worked the entire time and continues to work every day. Really, if you didn’t know you probably wouldn’t be able to tell anything was wrong with him besides his clothes being a little baggy. 😉 I’m still working and adjusting my schedule where needed. As always I am so appreciative of the grace and support my clients allow me to have. The kids are doing pretty good and continuing life as normal. We certainly do not have it all figured out but we are doing okay! ❤️

It’s obviously been a LONG time since I have posted but wanted to keep everyone up to date. I know I already ask for grace and patience juggling work life and home life BUT I definitely need it now more then ever. I’m trying my best to not have to change appointments on anyone but please know in the weeks/months to come I may have to adjust for Dr. appointments etc. I appreciate all of your continued support of my family and business! ❤️

In August Josh came back from gator hunting in Florida not feeling great. He didn’t think much of it but continued to decline over the next few weeks. He REFUSED to go to the Dr and by the end of September he was SICK. He had dropped almost 20 pounds (now around 30), he was throwing up, was exhausted, and had been having a DAILY fever of about 102.4. It would spike even higher at night. I’m pretty sure at some point I was yelling at him that if he didn’t go he was going to die! He literally looked like he was on his death bed. I convinced him to go to Xpress Wellness finally the end of September. Josh had about 10 of the 15 symptoms of West Nile so they suspected that at first. LONG story short (if you want to know the details-like the fact that Xpress wellness didn’t even call with results until the end of October-come see me in person), we finally have figured out he had an infection in his blood and was septic. A heart murmur was also noticed at one of the appointments and since has been referred to a cardiologist. Fast forward to last week, he had spiked another fever and wasn’t feeling good again. Friday they confirmed he had endocarditis, the infection has settled in his heart. He got a new accessory (PICC line) and started DAILY antibiotic injections for the next 6 weeks at the hospital last Friday and today was finally approved to do them at home. That is a HUGE relief to not have to make daily trips to Manhattan but also comes with the worry of making sure we don’t mess up since the line runs directly to his heart. I wish I could say that’s the end of it but with all of this his heart has shown some pretty significant damage. His mitral valve is severally leaking and pr*****ed. He’s had 2 echos and has been referred to KC to get an MRI of his heart to see what damage has been done. We’ll know more about what they’ll do for that on Friday since the referral was before the endocarditis. We’re thankful he’s still here as he’s been told multiple times he shouldn’t still be BUT we still have a long road ahead of us. ❤️
