HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT:
EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT!
The Pinch Reunion Committee is excited to announce that local resident and Boy Scout Connor Board has decided to do a huge outside renovation to our long-idled concession stand. This will primarily include a new roof, gutters, and the replacement of the entire decking system!
In Connor's words: "The facilities at the Reunion Grounds are really starting to get in disrepair and I think by renovating the concession stand, this will be a great opportunity to give back to the community. Food hasn't been able to be served during the Reunion events for several years and people have had to leave to eat. Once the concession stand is renovated, it will be a way to help families have a great time together and eat and enjoy the entertainment during the reunion events. This is a really big project for me to take on, but I think it will really be worthwhile. I am asking for volunteers to donate supplies, labor, and/or money to help me install a
new roof, new gutters and downspouts, electrical wiring and fixtures, and a new deck with a wheelchair ramp so everyone can enjoy the facility. Fortunately, one Pinch based business has
already volunteered to have the construction waste disposed of at no cost to me. For the businesses and individuals who help with this project, the person's name or the businesses name
will be placed on a sign at the Pinch Reunion Grounds showing who gave towards the project to help their community."
Please support this young man that lives right here in Pinch!
If you would like to donate to the project, or if you have contacts with companies who could donate supplies (especially lumber) AND/OR LABOR to this effort, please email the committee ASAP at pinchreunion @ gmail.com as the project deadline is 8/8/24!
Check back here often for updates, and feel free to share words of encouragement for Connor along the way.
You got this Connor! Let's go!
Another great summer camp at Kootaga
June 1-4, Troop 5 camped two nights at Antietam National Battlefield, tube floated the rapids of the mighty Potomac River through Harper’s Ferry and bike-packed over 20 miles on the C&O Canal Towpath. During this camp the boys earned credit towards the Communication merit badge by giving speeches on the battlefield decisions of assigned Officers at Bloody Lane, the Cornfield and Burnside Bridge.
Special thanks to Scott Bossie for his intricate knowledge of the battle. Special honorable mention to the dads that took time off work to drive bikes, gear and boys to bring this trip to life and also to the Scouts themselves that help keep tired dads young.
