Our dear friend needed an eyebrow model, and we adore branding photos, so Bobby took a bunch of awesome photos of Christina in action … and I tried not to ruin those photos by talking. 😜

Before we left, Bobby suggested a few giallo-inspired headshots, a nod to our shared love of horror cinema.

An ode to magical summer evenings in Charleston WV, as seen through our lenses. ✨

We had so much fun with Melissa & Kevin during their engagement session a few weeks ago! Taking photos on Capitol Street is always an adventure with the car traffic….. but in the end, it’s always worth a few rounds of “Game on!/Game off!”!

Also, we’re just romanticizing this city of ours a lil bit right now because it’s one of the most exciting weeks of the year here: REGATTA!! 🎆 (And ya *gotta* regatta!!!)

If you’re planning on having a wedding, we’re gonna go out on a limb and assume you love most of the folks on your guest list.

Bobby blogged this absolute BANGER of a wedding ages ago but I was so over our old crappy website that I wanted to wait until our fancy site was live to tell you about it here on the soche-meeds!!

Ashley & John’s wedding was so beautiful and heartfelt- full of happy tears and Ashley’s sassy snaps. 🫰🏼

This wedding also featured GINORMOUS six-foot party sub sandwiches and hot pink florals and disco balls and swans and the pink depression glassware and oh have we mentioned Ashley’s epic 007 Goldfinger CAPE GOWN??? And the for dessert???

Also, we adored their venue , their getting ready hotel down the street , the florals by , perfect invitation design by WV-based , wonderful DJing by and of course the stunning hair and makeup by . (We all truly made for one epic vendor team!!!)

We *love* portrait sessions at !!! Taylor & Mark hired us to take their wedding portraits while honeymooning at The Greenbrier last spring and we’re still swooning over these photos!

Weddings are happy, and we think happy photos should be COLORFUL!

While we don’t currently shoot on film cameras, our photo editing style is inspired by all the years I (Emily) spent shooting slide film before digital cameras were widely available and affordable.

In high school, I spent most of my Ellen’s Ice Cream paychecks on getting film developed + scanned, and slide film was my favorite because it was just so rich, vibrant, and bold.

We’ve remained consistent in our love of COLOR since the beginning of our business in 2009.

For us, it’s even more important to stay true to real colors in the world of weddings since couples put a lot of thought into their color palettes!

We know how to work with all the colors of the rainbow. No hue is too bright or saturated for us - we won’t drain the color from bridesmaid dresses or florals or lipsticks!!

Took a trip down memory lane to revisit Julie & Nathan's Nashville wedding from a few years back... this was such a great day. Nate is an incredible tattoo artist () and that's how we first got connected to these two!!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Anyway - we love April/springtime weddings and we especially love working with folks who are creative and chill like these two. Here's a few bangers from this killer day!!!

✨just thinkin bout Dolly Sods ✨​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​aka, our favorite nature-based location in West Virginia for elopements & portraits— not that you can go wrong at dozens of other amazing spots all around the mountain state!!

The air is just clearer up there. The rocks and the trees are fun to use when composing photos, and the light is always gorgeous in its own way. It’s magical up there even in dense fog & harsh midday sun.

It’s just a feel-good place to spend an afternoon, and even though it’s a 3+ hour trip each way, it’s worth every mile (even the ones that go up-up-up on a steep gravel road).

We enjoyed our 93.3% deep partial eclipse from our front porch today! (Boris and Lennie enjoyed too)

Science was always one of my favorite subjects in school- days like today are so fun and wholesome, it’s exciting when there’s a collective reason to be jazzed about something science-y.
