I’m gonna remind everyone about my oil painting process in case you have never clicked the tab on my website!

Creating custom oil paintings is a meticulous process that requires patience and time due to the nature of the medium. Oil paints take a very long time to dry, with each piece requiring around two to three months to complete, most of which is drying time. Once I finish a piece, it must sit out to dry for 2-3 weeks before it is safe to glaze without risking damage. I do not sell unglazed pieces, as the glazing process is essential for the final look and protection of the artwork. I can manage up to 10 pieces simultaneously, rotating them as each layer dries.

I love this aspect of oil painting because it allows me to balance my business and other responsibilities without feeling pressured to overwork, something I am prone to doing. Everything I do requires utmost patience these days, and the moment I feel pressured regarding something I love, I’ll drop it completely to protect my nervous system after the challenges of the past few years.

Additionally, I will not begin painting until the piece has been paid for in full to ensure that my work is compensated and not left unclaimed.

This entire process ensures that each piece meets my high standards and arrives in perfect condition. I’ve completed around 20 custom portraits this year and I still really love it!! Keep em coming, just know - it’s a process just like my tattoos! No instant gratification around here, sorry! 😅

Definitely got this phishing scam flagged and reported - but businesses be aware of this!

SCAM ALERT!

I fell for this because I get flagged a ton on Meta Business for nudity violations. As soon as I entered my info, I got the Chrome (was not using) login notification from another Country I don’t even believe I can pronounce on FB. So quickly froze and reset logins.

I am very good with phishing scams because of my spouses Cyber Security career and once I showed the email, he agreed it’s super convincing! We’ve reported this scam but just in case, don’t fall for it! It comes from “Meta Business Support” just like a real one from FB would.

The giveaway is hidden in the link at this “amplifyapp” section and again by the “helpscoutapp” section.

We are now billing tier 3 and up Insurance for Ar**la Tattooing and Scar Camouflage!! Many insurance companies include this as a part of reconstruction for cancer survivors.
(At this time we cannot bill UH or Medicare but we are trying our hardest!)

If your insurance rejects your claim and you make under 75k a year, we have grant applications that will cover Ar**la Tattooing, Scar Camo and Eyebrows!

This is a lot of work but we are so proud to be able to offer this! We might be the first and definitely the only tattoo studio to offer this in the state but in order to keep this going, we need to file at least a claim or two every six months! So on that note…

The downside: if we don’t use it we lose it!

I thought it might be time to reintroduce myself, it has been awhile!

My name is Christina Hornyak, and I own Alchemy WV in downtown Charleston, West Virginia. I started in cosmetology in 2007, specializing in edgy cuts and vibrant color, then expanded into skincare, waxing, lash extensions, and microblading. I trained with top expert Dominique (.izora !)in Pittsburgh, PA in 2017 and began using a pen type tattoo machine in 2019 where I simultaneously opened my first physical location, Alchemy. Although the pandemic delayed my ar**la tattooing plans for 2020, I used the time to learn about tattoo machines. Frustrated by the lack of in-person training, I pursued my education in paramedical tattooing online, despite some skepticism in the industry. I completed my certification in 2022 and have been creating hyper-realistic ni**le tattoos ever since. I now use a fully wired traditional tattoo setup for all my services, in a safe, comfortable and squeaky clean environment. A year later, I earned my certification in Scar Camouflage and Revision. I’ve also developed a passion for education and love sharing my years of knowledge in the industry by the way of personalized 1:1 trainings that are not rushed, yet move at the student’s learning pace. I am currently studying 3D Bellybutton tattooing and more hyper realistic eyebrow tattoo options.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my small family, hiking with my wonderful dogs, painting oil portraits, and gardening rare plants. To manage a lifetime of anxiety, depression, and ADHD, I focus on balancing my physical and mental well-being while running my business as seamlessly and stress free as possible as I rebrand for the future.

It’s too soon to tell but I’m optimistic thanks to my friends, family and clients 🖤 2023 was a pretty bad one but I think the best thing I could do was be completely vulnerable and man you all showed up for your girl 👏 I’ve been through some tough stuff in the past that some of you were there for (home invasion, some stranger guy that hated me for no reason and tried to ruin my life, finding out I lost a sister in the middle of a color service to name a few 😣) but I found out the hard way that if you ask for help you will get it! Good people just love helping each other, it’s a fact 🤓 Here’s to another year of being golden ✨
