Think twice before buying insurance online. AI technology is poised to replace insurance agents, especially for simple needs like auto and home insurance where a checklist of data suffices.

I recently tested the latest AI technology for life insurance. Upon asking basic questions, B**D, an AI developed by a well-known company *oogl* made two consecutive errors.

I asked B**D which is better, term life or permanent life insurance. It provided a basic understanding of each option with pros and cons, then summarized it into an exportable Excel chart.

Error 1: AI stated permanent life insurance is less flexible. Even basic knowledge of permanent life insurance reveals its adjustable features, including loan options on cash value, paid-up additions, changes to payment frequency, death benefit, and premiums, which can modify the guarantee period.

I informed AI of its error, and it acknowledged and apologized. It then produced a revised draft and chart, correctly reflecting flexibility. However, it added that permanent life insurance can convert to term insurance, while term insurance cannot convert to permanent. This is a key selling point of term insurance – its conversion privilege.

I twice corrected both errors, and AI acknowledged them. However, it repeated the same incorrect response upon subsequent inquiries. This suggests the AI is either not learning or its learning ability is disabled.
