Mac McQuillin for School Board
I have served on the School Board since 2014 & have fought to expand parental rights/support students
A PROVEN RECORD OF DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR STUDENTS:
LOWERED CLASS SIZES from 25 students to 21 students per teacher in pivotal years for reading comprehension and growth
Successfully FOUGHT FOR PARENTS AND CHILDREN to keep face-to-face instruction available as an option during the pandemic, instead of closing schools or mandating virtual learning
Advocated for resources and appointed leader
Cindy Coats for Berkeley County School Board!!!
Leaders from every corner of Berkeley County have endorsed our campaign! Thank you all. I appreciate the support and trust you have in me to be the Berkeley County School Board at-large member.
I will be the experienced leader you need! Vote Cindy Coats!
I picked up more than 300 pieces of yard and road art - all within 24 hours of polls closing. If I happened to miss one, please send me a message, and I will come pick it up.
I am so thankful and humbled by everyone’s support and votes. Today, I’ll be out gathering signs, and for the next four years, I’ll continue fighting for our children. I am truly honored to continue serving as your school board representative!
More awesome sign wavers!!!
Thank you to everyone waving signs!

I’m Mac McQuillin, the ONLY District 2 candidate with children in Berkeley County Public Schools. That’s why I’m fighting HARD to set our students up for success in the classroom and in their future careers.
Don’t forget to VOTE on Election Day, November 8th
Look who I ran into going door-to-door in Hanahan - Senator Tim Scott! We share many of the same political views, and I appreciate his words of encouragement!
Thank you WCBD News 2 for covering last night's Safety and Security event at Philip Simmons High School. Also, a big thank you to Sheriff Duane Lewis, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, and the parents and students that attended.
**REMINDER for TONIGHT’S event – I hope to see you there!**
I enjoyed talking with the Daniel Island School Ospreys parents/PTA and the Philip Simmons Elementary School parents/PTA regarding school safety last week. I hope you will join us TONIGHT at Philip Simmons High School for another important presentation on school safety. If our children are not safe or do not feel safe, they cannot learn. Our children's safety is one of my top priorities!
I am honored to have the support of Hanahan's Mayor Christie Rainwater! The Tanner Plantation & Foster Creek Community is really a special community, and I have enjoyed meeting many of you while going door-to-door. As your current school board representative, I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks!
Please Share - I hope to see you there!
Last week, we had a very unfortunate incident that affected all of our Philip Simmons schools. Here is a link to a letter from the Philip Simmons’ High School Principal, Chris Buchholz. Safety and security is our number one concern – if our students are not or do not feel safe, they cannot learn.
Since this incident, I am calling for randomized weapon searches at our schools, and the Superintendent indicated this will be rolled out next month. Principal Buchholz and I are also advocating for Philip Simmons High School to serve as the pilot school for metal detectors. I, along with the Sheriff’s Office and the School District, will also be hosting a safety and security meeting/active shooter educational presentation at Philip Simmons High School on October 13, 2022 at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend, and I hope you will join us. I am also attending several local PTA meetings to discuss safety and security with the School District’s Safety and Security Director, Tim Knight.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. My contact information is on this page and my website: www.MacMcQuillin.com

This is my “WHY?” - As a parent of two children currently in Berkeley County Schools, I have a vested interest to ensure that your children and my children have the best educational opportunities available to them.
This was such a good day in 2018 – so many Tanner Plantation residents (including Mayor Christie Rainwater) helped me advocate for Bowen's Corner Elementary to be built in the Tanner Plantation & Foster Creek Community as opposed to another site outside of Hanahan.

I’m excited to announce that I am seeking re-election to the school board!
Now more than ever we need somebody with a proven record of expanding parental rights and supporting our students. While others fought to end face-to-face instruction during covid, I pushed back to ensure in-person learning was available.
While I have been on school board, teacher pay has increased by 30%.
We have accomplished a lot for our students in District 2, but there is still more to do. I would be honored to have your vote on November 8th.
This is so cool. My son’s hand is one of the hands that formed this awesome piece of art! Philip Simmons Elementary School
Philip Simmons Elementary now has a literal Iron Horse! Comprised of 250 steel hands, select students traced and cut out their handprints for the project. The horse was then assembled by an artist-in-residence, Robert Doster, and delivered back to the school last week. 🐴
