Sorry to hear of the passing of our friend Lois Miner. We discovered her store, Mary D’s Antiques , 15 years ago and bought many a treasure there.
The biggest treasure was getting to know Lois personally, such a lovely lady. She will be greatly missed. Our condolences to her husband Bruce and family.

It’s a big weekend here in Charlestown with the seafood festival going on at Ninigret Park. If you haven’t been it’s a great family event with over 55 food vendors. There’s live bands, carnival rides for the kids, an artisans market, fireworks Saturday night and a car show on Sunday. We’re fortunate to be practically right next door to this huge event so it brings us lots of visitors. If your headed to the festival pop on in, we’re open 10:00 to 6:00 every day.

Sunday Funday at The Rustic Garden. It’s been an incredibly busy summer so far but we still manage to bring in great new plants and merchandise. Recently restocked houseplants, perennials, and yard art. We still have some great looking annuals that are on clearance @ 50% off. Great for refreshing your pots or filling in drab spots in the garden. Open 7 days a week 10-6.

Here they come! Our throngs of summer residents and tourists have arrived. Good thing we have restocked in all departments. There’s still plenty of vibrant summer annuals in the greenhouses. As if you needed another reason to come check out our cool store in Charlestown. Ninigret Park, right next door to us, is now home to 2 giant trolls built by renowned recycle artist Thomas Dambo. It’s become quite the tourist attraction.

Yes, we are officially open for the Season! The greenhouses are stuffed with plants and bursting with color. Lots of fun new merchandise to check out too. What a beautiful weekend to start your spring garden shopping!

We’re gonna need a bigger truck! We made a final push to do some serious antiquing before heading back up north. Last weekend we hit some great shops out in Asheville and Black Mountain NC. This week we made our way back to one of our favorite shops, Luna’s Trading Post in Staley NC. Sorry we didn’t have room for the UFO but we did pick up some cool signage, a painted truck door, a 1950’s Willys jeep grill, and some assorted rusty treasures. Heading home this weekend to fire up the greenhouses for spring planting season. See you soon!

Haven’t posted in a while. We’ve been in vacation mode but we’re always on the prowl for cool stuff for the store. On a recent trip to visit family in Florida we made a side trip to Barberville Yard Art Emporium. We discovered this place a couple years ago. Love their kitschy yard art and huge selection of Talavera pottery. Yes, we picked up a few select pieces to bring back to Charlestown.

The Rustic Garden buying team just spent 2 long days scouting out the ginormous America’s Market Atlanta. We’re excited to incorporate some really unique merch for this spring. From classic planters and garden accessories to the whimsical and fun finds we are known for. Stay tuned.

Road Trip alert! Lisa and I are headed to the big Atlanta Market trade show. We decided to do a little antiquing along the way. We spent a couple hours at The Depot at Gibson Mill. At 88,000 square ft it’s one of the biggest antique malls down south. Well worth the trip.

Tomorrow night Friday December 8th. Our Friends at The Fantastic Umbrella Factory are having their annual Holiday Stroll. We may be closed for the season but we got in the spirit and did a little decorating along the path to our shop. We will definitely be attending, come join us and support these great shops.
