When I first considered bringing on semaglutide and tirzepatide on for the med spa, I knew that if it didn’t work for me, it would be hard for me to confidently offer it to my patients. For the last 15 years, my weight has fluctuated, especially after having my kids. I had tried everything, weight watchers, optavia, Noom, intermittent fasting, Orange theory, hot yoga, endless hours on the peloton during the pandemic…everything. I would lose the weight for a while, and then I would lose focus, and it would come right back. So, from May to September of 2023, I gave it my all. Using tirzepatide and making smart food and portion choices (which are much easier to make while using the medication) I was able to lose 47lbs. And I have kept it off ever since. I truly feel more comfortable in my skin than I have in years. It’s not just about the weight though, it’s about being able to move in my body and work out because I want to, not because I have to. I have more energy and instead of sitting around and watching my kids play, I can be the kind of mom that runs down the beach with them, jumps on a boogie board and cannonballs in the pool. For some people, diet and exercise alone can achieve their desired results and kudos to them. For me, I needed a tool, and one that worked, and there’s no shame in that.
