We are at the beginning of respiratory season but are seeing unreasonable high numbers of RSV, flu, rhinovirus and respiratory illnesses. We are receiving an unprecedented amount of patient calls, MyChart messages and appointment requests. The staff and physicians at Novant Health Pediatrics Ardrey Kell are doing everything possible to accommodate as many office visits and requests as possible. Due to icy road conditions, we will be operating on a delayed schedule for Monday, Jan 16th, 2022. Ages 12 and up are now eligible for COVID-19 booster vaccination 5 months after their last dose. Please don’t skip this important step to achieve broader protection for our kids and community. Full vaccination including booster dose if eligible, is 75% effective against symptomatic infection against the latest Omicron variant, which is currently in wide circulation. Full vaccination continues to provide even higher levels of protection against COVID complications and severe disease. As always, please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

We have received our first shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines for patients aged 5-11 and will begin clinics next week, starting Tuesday November 9th.

It’s official! We have EUA and CDC, ACIP, and AAP approval and recommendation for Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccination for all eligible children ages 5 and up! Stay tuned for scheduling details as we await allocated supplies. Meanwhile, appointments may be scheduled immediately at Starmed locations by visiting Starmed.care or register by phone at (980)445-9818.

Pfizer’s COVID vaccine for ages 5 to 11 closer to approval If Pfizer’s review process follows a similar timeline to the ones for older children and adults, it’s possible kids age 5 to 11 could be inoculated before Halloween.
