ART GIVEAWAY ✨ It gives me extreme pleasure to welcome back my friend; the extraordinarily talented, and wildly creative Golsa Golchini .golchini . It’s hard not to feel the whimsy, humor and joy in Golsa’s work. She has been a crowd favorite here for some time and for very good reason.
Golsa Golchini, born Tehran, Iran, lives and works as a Visual Artist and Photographer in Milan since 2004. Golsa graduated in 2010 from the Fine Arts Accademy of Brera with a specialization in the department of Visual Arts and has continued reinventing herself over the years. From 2015 to 2016 the artist went through a restless battle with a rare family of bone cancer which attacked her right arm. Due to a complicated bone implant surgery her arm was immobilized for 6 months and the artist experienced a huge limitation to her art due to health situation. Golsa who was right handed focused all her power on developing new skills through her left hand.
Severe limitations brought the artist to develop a new way of working. Nowadays Golsa uses both hands in her creations which permits the artist to create several artworks every week. She reminds the illness as the bridge that unified “her” and “Art” in a new essential level.
Golsa, “My artworks are creations through different visual art’s languages. I love to mix all that I have ever learnt during my journey and serve it on a silver plate to the observer. I love art to be lovable. My aim is to make a type of art that can conquer many eyes and not just the expert ones. I think the era of “complicated” artworks is coming to an end. Our century is in need of simplicity and joy.”

I love me some versatility in design. Adaptable pieces that can used multi-functionally. Furniture that can be shifted and used in different spaces for added seating like these X benches from . The Bright Navy Solaire by CW Stockwell pattern is equally fun and inviting in the poolhouse as they are in the lounge. Sturdy and lightweight I know I can shift them to different rooms depending on the need.
But the question is, what space do you like them better in for now?
Thank you for the love and the HUGE support Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery

So I just talked to the New York Times about functional storage for an article that is in today’s paper.
Pause for squealing.
Ok. Anyway. Things that you typically need a place to store like bikes, records, books, clothes, guitars, sports equipment… Why try to shove it away? Maybe we can just display those incredibly important yet cluttery elements in our lives in a way that feels like art and makes a statement about who you are.
Link to the article up in my stories. Please share with me any everyday functional items you have displayed as art as I would love to share them!
Surfboards by .zombie_ While these surfboards are an actual art installation, the same things can be done with the surfboards you use and love.
Bookshelves, how I love thee. I love them as a functional design component. I love them for the architectural drama three being to a space. I love them for the storage they provide. I love them stacked with well loved books. I love them as a place to display your prettiest pieces and mementos. Ideally I love the balance of all those things when you’re styling bookshelves. I love them painted any color of the rainbow. I love them in rich wood tones. And god I love a library ladder….
I have no point other that I think EVERY a home needs a bookshelf. Whether it’s a custom built in, a stand alone furniture pieces or wall mounted shelves. I think most of us can agree on that, yeah? 📚
Listen, I got nothing against a white kitchen. I really don’t. I think they are actually pretty timeless. But if you’re a color lover, the question becomes how can we incorporate color then in this previously very very white kitchen? Swipe for the before.
Starting from scratch with a new kitchen can be HARD. How do you know what stand the test of time? While there has been a shift to bolder, more dramatic designs, it’s utterly satisfying to make a few distinct budget friendly updates with selective color moments in order to achieve a whole new look.
Another of my favorite party tricks is to warm up a white kitchen with all nickel hardware is to mix metals. A little swaparoo of those kitchen pendants makes a huge difference… The brass and black go a long way in helping equally ground and warm up the addition of some softer paint colors. Plus fruit. Ummm..healthy choices plus that pretty color pop, right?
I wanna know what you’re kitchen vibe is right now. Leaning moody? Trendy? Scandinavian? Cottage core? Bold and dramatic? Still feeling the classic white kitchen? Tell me what your dream kitchen looks like!

I have felt so oddly removed from posting here as of recent. So much real life is happening that I had to hit my version of a pause button here on IG.
You look at yourself (hopefully in a beautiful mirror in a jewel box of a powder room) and ask, are we ok? Summer has arrived bringing its own special kind of crazy that I love and sometimes, only sometimes…loath. But there is something a little extra in the air this time of year for sure. Do you feel it too?
Summer break is called a break for a reason. So do what you need to do. But your world should still feel pretty while living in it. Actually more so because of it.
Happy summer and I hope you find your happy in all the very big and the very small ways this summer, friends.

ART GIVEAWAY ✨Today’s art giveaway by hits me in all the ways. Let’s point out the obvious, I’m a summer girl and happen to have a deep nostalgia for art that reflects one’s love of summers past and present. Oh but Danielle’s story…that’s what hits me right in the heart.
Virginia based artist, Danielle Biglin, has been painting for the last five years. She was a creative kid who loved art and wanted to be an artist, but life got busy, and her focus was on school, work, marriage, and kids. People would ask, what do you do? and she wanted to answer, I’m an artist., but she didn’t make art…she had no portfolio, nothing to show. Then she turned 40. Danielle thought, I’m half-way through my life (if I’m lucky) and if I want to be an artist, I better start making art. She painted every day in 2019 and in December of that year she had her first solo show. The show sold out and Danielle was on her way. She continued to paint every day, started teaching evening art lessons in her home studio, and grew her social media following. Danielle left her full-time government job in 2022 to be a full-time artist, and she couldn’t be happier.
Danielle works in oils and acrylics, and her paintings leave one feeling nostalgic. Card games, cocktails, family vacations, picnics, and birthday parties are some of her favorite subjects to paint. The cars, card games, and clothing are a nod to her childhood, growing up in the 80’s in a large, close-knit family.
Born and raised in South Florida, this Floridian moved to Richmond, Virginia this year and is enjoying the seasons and exploring all that Richmond has to offer.

It’s my birthday!
I’m 479 years old. Or maybe it just feels like it. Previous birthdays have run the gamut from spending the whole day chilling & reading poolside in the sunshine by myself, to low keys hangs with fam/friends to straight up partying my b***y off. But this year, is different. This year my younger brother, Mason, is here. There was a time not so long ago that this felt like an impossibility. So it is with extreme gratitude I celebrate this year’s birthday with him for the whole weekend! I’m glad you are here, Mason. You make me laugh just as hard as I did as a kid, you get me on another level and I’m just so stupid proud of you. You have overcome so much and come out on the other side with such gratitude and zest for life. And that’s worth celebrating. You’re here! And that means EVERYTHING. So glad we uncovered these childhood gems. We were so cute. Until we weren’t…last photo is the definition of “awkward stage”. 👀♥️
Oh and also, I’m getting fancy and headed to the annual Bechtler Gala tonite to celebrate ART and my (479th….) birthday! Grateful for another trip around the sun and for this next year ahead for whatever adventures & surprises await me.

After a 6 month stretch of filming and then wrapping season 2 of Artfully Designed right before the holidays, the burnout I was feeling was real. Life is so very busy. You get caught up so easily in the day to day shuffle not stopping to see the inspiration all around you. I’ve priotized a lot of travel already this year to try and find that spark back, to get inspired by new surroundings. But you know what I discovered? It wasn’t the beautiful places that I traveled that I found most inspiring. It was the the people I traveled with and connected with along the way.
Seeing the world through their eyes and their own individuality has opened up a mental block in my brain. Every single one of these friends and family members I have traveled with this year has inspired me in some way, shape or form. To try something new, to go somewhere new, to connect back to my center, to explore different avenues, to take a chance, to push me out of my comfort zone and that’s it’s also ok to just be. It’s a beautiful thing to take a moment to reflect on the fact that my family, my friendships and this beautiful community I have surrounded myself with is above all the greatest inspiration of all.

This revolutionary approach gives you endless freedom to decorate with what you already have, liberating you from budget pressure while transforming rooms that speak to—and from—the soul.”
All tingly happy waiting at the airport for my girl crew to head to ! This particular market has been on my bucket list. Somehow the stars aligned when a friend kicked this out to the five of us out for drink earlier this month and made it happen! Do you even know how hard it is to get five women with jobs, children and life’s other stuff to a last minute plan work?!
Giddy about the scores to be found, the hoarding to commence, the fab fun to be had. Have you been to Round Top before? Any tips/tricks? I’ll share all the goodies in my stories the next few days.
Feels good to get back to my happy place. Thrifting, add friends and stir. Enjoy.
After what felt like an surreal, intense, passionate year of filming Artfully Designed, I find myself being pretty reflective these days. There was so much beauty, laughter and love happening, so many incredible families and clients, so much hard work and dedication from cast & crew, hard work and artistry from local craftsmen, generous and kind vendors, community artists, behind the scenes production talent and local community support that it leaves me dizzy wifh gratitude and also a deep sense of lost that that season in over lives is now complete.
Maybe we will get an opportunity for Season 3. Maybe we will just get to treasure all these beautiful moments forever. But I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to create “Artfully” with my two pals and ALL involved in making this happen. Hands down we had the best crew ever. Thank you for believing in us.
I’m not crying, you’re crying… 😭

GIVEAWAY ✨ “I love making art. I love EVERYTHING about it. I do not want to be limited to a style or a color palette or a certain audience- I want my art to speak to whoever is listening.”, Brenna Peterson
Brenna grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and spent most of her youth goofing around and finding humor in whatever she could (class clown if you will). The youngest in a family of six- though she technically has a twin- had the influence of other artistically inclined family members that helped open her eyes to what one’s brain can muster up.
She began investing herself in painting as the pandemic took hold. When there’s nothing to do you’ve got nothing to lose. As more and more doors started opening up (literally) and businesses began opening, she had a residency at a local brewery, partook in many joint artist shows, and had a residency at a local hair salon for over a year.
Her first solo show was in December of 2022, called “Witness Marks.” This was a tribute to her late father, paintings of photos he took in his service in the Vietnam War.
Something Brenna learned through studying her father’s war photos is that we all have a legacy of some sort once we’re gone. Could be children, could be awards, etc.
“I’d go happy if this were mine.”, Brenna

When tiling the poolhouse bathroom, my tile installer was confused when I asked him to not take the tile all the way up the ceiling. “You want to leave the tile raw at the top with the pointy edges showing?”, he questioned. I said yes, like a picket fence finish all the way around.
His response? “Okkkkkaayyy, lady…”
If people think you’re crazy, go ahead and do it anyway. And while you’re at it, go ahead and top off the room styling with a garden gnome and a funky vintage stand. Cause it’s your house.

GIVEAWAY ✨ There is something about Lily Roman’s work that connects with my soul on almost a spiritual level. They way she connects with viewers through feelings of a shared experience through memories, images, color, and contrast, is the root of her practice. The layers, the diffused light, the vintage quality to her work, connecting with her portraits in a way that seems like past memories unlocking is incredibly moving.
, a Cali girl at heart, married with kitties in her home and studio in North Carolina, explores figurative painting, blending expressionism, surrealism, & the chiaroscuro technique. Creativity and imaginative expression were cultivated in Lily from an early age and my formal instruction began at Mission College, in Santa Clara and The Academy of Art in San Francisco. During those early years, she was awarded “Best In Show” at exhibits in San Jose and Riverside. More recently, Lily has enjoyed membership with Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance and the Guild of Charlotte Artists. Her work has been featured in House & Garden magazine (UK) and The Turquoise Iris Journal. For the year 2024, Lily’s work was selected to be displayed all over the Metro-Charlotte region on OOH media such as billboards and digital displays part of the ArtPop Street Gallery Cities Program.
Lily’s current art is deeply rooted in a serious and turbulent time in her youth when she was found at the proverbial crossroads. Thankfully her decision led to a joyful and purposeful life! Hence, light shone in the shadows is a theme that pervades her work. Literal and figurative light shows us truth, realities; essential in the darkness that abounds. Yet, suggesting humor and lightheartedness in my art as well by including her cats and other creatures that represent poignant memories from childhood until now; memories that run deep.
