Pause a minute. Did you know that boundaries allow you to love yourself and love others at the same time? ♥️
Whew! 🥹
The idea of boundaries often equates to feelings of guilt or selfishness. People share concerns of how their boundaries will impact the other person and if the person will make changes for the benefit of the relationship.
Maybe they won’t make changes. Maybe it’s because they aren’t ready to make those changes.
You will exhaust yourself trying to get someone else to do something (manage them) but the fact is that they aren’t going to until they are ready to do it.
We often get carried away thinking we are solely responsible for another’s health and wellbeing…and happiness.
This thinking comes from a good place, but it’s not helpful to you. You can both be supportive and still have boundaries.
It’s also important to note that it’s normal to feel guilty when you first set boundaries because you have a faulty internal measure of what you should and should not do.
We are accustomed to providing for others to the point that you’ve become attached to the idea that it is part of your identity. So when you start to challenge that idea it will feel uncomfortable and strange and it is ok to have discomfort for an amazing change in your life.

🔅 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬! Know your numbers, you know your personal finances and where you stand. This will give clarity on how to move forward. Talk about building that confidence! Data doesn't lie. So what do your numbers say? Is it time to pivot, or do you just keep going, being consistent because my friend it may be working!
🔅 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! The only one who can motivate you is YOU. Do an audit of what is feeding your thoughts, feelings, and the actions taken because of all of this. Talk about building that confidence!

Was I the only one who grew up with parents who would say "If you don't adjust your attitude I will adjust it for you?" No?... just me? Ok!
As a leader, you are the temperature reading for the team. You set the tone for the group! So, if you have a janky attitude, how do you expect your team and others to respond to you? I have to be honest, you cannot chastise others for their attitude, if yours is not up to par.
𝟑 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 (𝐬𝐨 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨!):
1. Recognize that it is a choice - yes, you can choose your attitude and YES... you can choose it to be a positive one.
2. Control the self talk - Some of your self talk comes from logic and reason, while other self talk may arise from misconceptions that you create.
3. Practice a grateful mindset - Being grateful for existing accomplishments and the support in your life will help you see them more clearly, build your own confidence, and give you a better overall outlook on what your limitations really are and what you have to do to overcome them.
𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬! - Believe in yourself and your truth - Confidence is a result of getting out of your comfort zone. The more you do this, the more confident you’ll be, and the more positive your attitude will be.

Last night filled my soul! I had the honor of speaking to the ambassadors of the Right Moves for Youth Leadership Academy. We spoke about "Presenting Yourself Well" - Leadership Presence and answered questions about public speaking which will help them present their projects at the end of their program. These are amazing young adults who I cannot wait to see what is next for them!

Right Moves for Youth (RMFY) is a school-based, youth development and student support program focused on helping teens develop the skills to succeed in school and life.
When youth are supported, they thrive and become healthy adults who contribute to society.
𝗝𝗠𝗦 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗬𝗼𝘂! 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 is a signature 7-step coaching program. We walk through enriching steps to find 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 ideal state, your purpose (not someone else's).
