GOODBYE COVID RESTRAINTS!!!

UPDATED COVID PROCEDURES: Beginning April 26, we will begin to reopen in a limited manner such that we welcome back our realtors and loan officers so they may attend closing if they wish to do so! We have missed our referral partners over the past 13 months, and we also recognize the importance of the realtor’s and loan officer’s presence during closing. However, we do ask that only the aforesaid fiduciaries and those individuals signing closing documents attend. Please continue to refrain from bringing children, friends, families, etc. to closings. We do recognize that some of you may still feel uncomfortable attending in person, so we encourage those realtors and loan officers to consider FaceTiming with their clients during closing rather than attending in person.

If you need to deliver EMD, you may continue to utilize our lock box outside of office doors, or you may now come inside. We will respond to all lock box mail (where applicable) with signed copies and confirmations within one business day.

We appreciate your patience over the past year as we navigated through uncharted waters and adapted daily to new obstacles. Thank you for your understanding of our decisions! We have missed our friends and colleagues so much, and it is so wonderful to welcome you back to the office!

We are proud to announce that we have partnered with CertifID to help protect your clients' funds! CertifID uses innovative technology to verify that your clients' funds end up in the right place. We are happy to add this valuable service to our closing process to protect all parties involved!

Dear valued clients, realtors and friends:

We are reaching out to inform you that The Coley Law Firm will limit access to the public throughout the upcoming weeks due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. We will continue to conduct closings as long as the Register of Deeds and Courthouses remain open. However, for the protection of our staff members, valued clients and their families, we have made these modifications to our daily operations to ensure everyone’s safety. We want to assure you that we are closely following the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and government’s recommendations and have put the following measures into place to ensure that we can continue to provide services in the safest possible manner.

If you are currently scheduled for a closing we are prepared to move forward as planned, however, we will be requiring that all closings now be conducted as mail aways.

If you and your clients feel that it is in their best interest to push closings back, we understand and will work with you to reschedule as needed. We will waive our mail away fee since we are requiring the client to do their closing remotely. We can refer you to a local mobile notary service who is still operating and can accommodate your closings. The cost for that service is $150. The mobile notary will print your documents for you and bring them to you for signature at a time and place that is convenient for you. You may use other notaries as well but understand that your closing may be delayed if the documents are printed or notarized incorrectly.

If you have a cash closing there is no need to come into our office or have a notary present. Please allow us to conduct this electronically.

If you must drop off anything to our office in person, we ask that anyone coming to the office be fever free, without the use of fever reducing medication, for at least 24 hours. Please do not come to our office or drop anything off at our office if you are feeling ill.

Additionally, we are requiring that you please mail, FedEx or wire all earnest money deposits to us. Our preference is that you have your clients wire the funds. We will waive all FedEx fees for clients and realtors as we will be temporarily prohibiting physical pickup of proceeds and commission checks.

Please also understand that we may be operating with limited staff, allowing those who can and need to work remotely to do so. We would ask that you please call the office before coming over as there may not be anyone physically in the office.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will make updates available on our page and website if things should change.
