Starting today, the apa fall session begins AND we will start a BCA in house 8 ball league. Teams are still forming for both!!! We have room for one BCA team and a few spots open for individual players in both apa and BCA.

The finalist for the 30th Anniversary Tournament, BJ Ussery, Mosconi Cup hopeful and former US Open champion Tommy Kennedy. BJ eventually took the top spot, a double hill thriller in the finals, after 2 great days of pool. A spectacular field of 64 competed for over $20,000.
Many thanks to everyone who came out and watched in person and those who watched online too. Also, many thanks to all of our customers and all of our employees from over the years, you made it happen, we greatly appreciate everyone so much. It’s always been a privilege and honor to have served the Charlotte pool community for the last 30 years, we are truly humbled to have been a part of it.

We’re down to the final four of The 30th Anniversary Tournament.

Tommy Kennedy vs Runal Bhatt for the hot seat and BJ Ussery vs Johnny Archer in the semi finals of the one loss side. Pretty strong final 4

Come out Sunday and watch the final 16 compete for over $20,000! We are also selling raffle tickets for a Predator P3 only 300 tickets will be sold and all proceeds will be donated for breast cancer

We will be closed today so our staff can celebrate the Labor Day holiday with their friends and family.

The APA national tournament just wrapped up after almost 2 weeks of competition. Congratulations to all the teams that competed, making it there is no small accomplishment. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut……The teams from Smokin’ Cue didn’t just make it there, they played lights out. Combined team record of the teams? 27 WINS and ONLY 4 losses. We sent 5 teams to the nationals, a ladies team, an 8 ball team, a 9 ball team and 2 masters teams. What an awesome performance by a bunch of great people and talented players. Smokin’ Cue is so proud of all the team’s accomplishments this year!
To top it off one team won it all, a national champion masters team led by Joey Fox

65th-Lady Luck, Selena Russell, ladies with a 2-1 record

17th-Moving on up, Brian Kurzel, 8 ball team with a 5-1 record

5th-Rack-U-Later(Johns Rackers) John Patera, 9 ball team with an 8-1 record

And

1st place-Whiteout, Joey Fox, masters with a 10-0 record. Top it off it was a repeat performance, back to back champs!!!

What a great performance by all the Smokin’ Cue teams, congratulations again!!!

Happy birthday to my Mom and happy anniversary to Smokin’ Cue!

28 years ago today, June 17, 1994 my dad and I had the great idea to open Smokin’ Cue on my mom’s 50th birthday. Maybe not the smartest idea ever but it was appropriate. Because to us, business, family and friends have always been intermixed together. Our customers are friends and our employees are family.

The years have flown by, I’m now older than my mom was when we opened. Next year I will be older than my dad was. With the number of years that have passed, it is truly a humbling feeling to know how many people have called Smokin’ Cue home. So many friends have been made and sadly we’ve lost a few too, they are missed but most definitely not forgotten.

Our deepest and most heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone that has made Smokin’ Cue possible. It’s because of YOU we’ve had the privilege to serve The Charlotte Pool Family for 28 years! Happy Anniversary to Smokin’ Cue and Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!

Thanks so much to everyone that came out today and supported our tournament for Allie Yandle. We were able to raise some money, play some pool and remember a friend! We had a great turnout, 65 players for our 9 ball event. We had several winners today, Robert Mones won the 2/3 bracket, Art Cullers the 4/5 bracket and Justin Clark the 6/7 bracket. Robert McKinney won our cue raffle, a limited edition Predator, over a $1,500 retail value, David Beam won a starter set, two cues and a case, Joey Low won a break cue and Amy Peugh won a cue case.
Thanks again to everyone for the love and support they showed today, it was greatly appreciated by all.
