Myers Park Speech and Debate Team
The Myers Park Speech and Debate Team has a proud tradition of success in forensics since the 1960s.
Off in the morning to the National Speech & Debate Association National event. Myers Park is proud to be bringing participants in all 5 debate events: public forum, Lincoln Douglas, policy debate, Big questions, and Congressional debate. Add in 3 speakers and we are quite the crowd to wrangle. Hope to see many of my friends along the way!

On behalf of the Myers Park Speech and Debate Team, I would like to invite you to consider participation in the 50th annual LAIRD LEWIS INVITATIONAL at Myers Park HS in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 7-8, 2023.
Events include Varsity PF (TOC gold bid at quarters), Varsity LD (TOC finals gold bid), and Varsity Congress. Debate categories also include novice divisions in all categories.
Speech events will include Declamation, Dramatic Interp, Duo Interp, Extemp, Humorous Interp, Impromptu, Informative, Original Oratory, Poetry/Prose, POI and a general Novice Reading category.
We know you have a lot of choices when it comes to tournament attendance--we hope you choose to join us ON CAMPUS in January!
