Between pop ups, website sales and Etsy, I have reason to upgrade to a larger melter and that is an amazing feeling. I continue to sit in gratitude and I keep doing what I love with lots of joy. I'm focused on enjoying every part of the journey. It's not easy and can be filled with hurdles (internal and external) but we know that already the part we (I) have to remember is that's where the magic happens

We're back at it today at the CLT Christmas Village/ Light the Knight on Truist Field from 12-8 today. The energy has been amazing 🙌🏾🙌🏾🎄.

This year we donated 50% of the profits from the sale of this candle to . An organization working to create racial equity in our public schools. We're back at it. Through November 2021 to March 2022, we will donate to another organization doing the work of creating a more equitable world.

Black Lives Matter is Not a Political Statement is the first candle scent I made. I created it at the height of the pandemic and the ongoing plague of American racism. It is my way of highlighting an issue I'm passionate about while leaving BIG room for my joy, It's also our way of supporting others doing the work of creating a more equitable world. Yesterday was National Coffee day. Tomorrow is International Coffee day and some folks have been in my DM 👀 asking about specific scents😁...coffee and grass have come up more than once. I'm curious to know how folks feel about these two? I do love the smell of coffee...I have an obsession. Grass, I could maybe see as a scent🤔, if done right--super fresh and maybe with a hint of lemongrass to mellow it out. What are your thoughts? And, what other unique scents work for you when it comes to your candles?

So, it is World Alzheimer's day and also world Gratitude Day. My grandmother battled with the disease in her last few years. It was challenging and we could see her frustration as she forgot words, names and faces. We sat patiently as she retold the same stories. Through it, I remember thinking how grateful I was to have spent the time with her that I did--The stories she shared about her childhood, the food that she fed me, the indoor picnics that we used to have on rainy days. So on this day where these two things meet, I encourage you to reach out to the people in your life. Ask about their lives, give them a hug (if your tested and/or vaccinated and able to do so), give them a call. Let them know how grateful you are for them!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If those loves are no longer with us, send an extra prayer to them today with your gratitude.

I'll let you in on a secret...sometimes "people" is the nagging voice in our heads🤦🏾‍♀️(but you already knew that). I know, it's hard sometimes to see but you really CAN do it. it might take a little longer than expected and sometimes it feels impossible but listen to what's inside you (the encouraging parts) and you'll find that you can do anything you work towards. What do we do? Flows Grand is all about vibes🔮🕯candles, crystals, natural products and the joy that comes from making and you receiving. Basically we're Joy seekers--cultivating it and leaning into it, even through difficulties.
Isn't joy just happines? It can be. But similar to love joy can reach deeper.
My inspiration? You guessed it, my grandmother, Annie Florene (we called her Flo). She was pretty badass. Full time nurse, working mother of two, social butterfly, master seamstress, property owner, traveller. Born in Georgia in the 20's, migrated to NYC in the 40s, and faced her fair share of adversity and challenges through the decades...but through it all she held onto that joy.
