We're always looking for ways to help clients make the most of opportunities. During a coffee conversation with a client about what his summer looked like, he let us know that his gym would be doing self-defense classes for a Girl Scout troop. Our response -” We gotta make patches.”

What was one class has now turned into a series of classes that are happening all summer long. If you have a troop that is interested in participating let me know and I'll connect you.

We created this embroidered patch featuring a girl scout ready to defend herself. Each participating girl scout will get one as a reminder of how strong and capable they are.

We are proud to continue our support of the Charlotte Memory Gala. Each year we provide design services for their sponsor packet, program, invite, save the date, and sponsor ads. This year's event raised nearly $500,000 to support the Alzheimer's Association - Western Carolina Chapter which provides care and support to those affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias! In North Carolina currently, 180,000 individuals are living with the disease, and that number is increasing daily.

The gala was a huge success, thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests — and we are honored to play a small role.

We get asked frequently “Why does your design firm offer workshops and sprints?”

Well, there are a few primary reasons.

First, it gives us and our clients a much better understanding of their objectives, goals, and competitive landscape. With that knowledge, we can design things that are effective at helping achieve those goals.

It fosters communication, most obviously between us and our client but just as importantly, between different individual stakeholders within the client's company. Which allows for better alignment and a much wider view of the issues they face.

Lastly, it is about putting in the work. Could we put together a moderately successful design with little to no customer input? Probably. But that isn’t good design, that is decoration, and it isn’t what we do. Workshops and sprints uncover things about the business, its customers, and its ideal future. It uncovers things that they don’t know to tell us or are not even certain of themselves.

They are part of the tools that we use to produce outcome-based design work. And we use them specifically to make sure the things we design make a difference.

Today marks our 14th year in business. In that time we've worked with hundreds of clients on projects ranging from branding and marketing assets to workshops and discovery to e-commerce and competitive analysis.
