I spend my days educating against many “industry standard practices” because I’m no longer a text book esthetician but get to now stand w experience & what I’ve actually seen in my career. In the beginning fresh out of school, you really know a whole lot about not much! For myself once graduated I went after more education, took classes and lucky for me I was about to partner, meet and work along side so many industry professionals. I soaked up my time with them like a sponge. It was a time when the industry was focused on real skin, yet the Wild West of this industry was starting. In spa I dig deeper but here’s a run down of my list and quick answers: Lasers➡️ don’t do it. The short term gratification isn’t worth the long term losses to the face. Many are getting damages that will be very hard to repair. Video coming! Botox/Filler➡️ I personally want to control the toxins I can control. Life is already hard with toxic food, water, air, soil, clothes, pesticides, why add more. And it’s being pushed on way too young of girls, the damaging outcome down the road may be too late to reverse. Once you manipulate the face it’s very hard to reverse to natural. Sun exposure➡️ we need the ☀️ ! The amount of artificial light we work, live, sit under is killing the soul! Telling people to be afraid of the ☀️ its exposure is crazy talk. I have found first hand how it’s healing. Also since starting school I can see how artificial light was aging me and killing my soul! Tretinoin aka the harshest level of vitamin A➡️ in 13 yrs I’ve never met a skin on tret where I have said to myself wow her skin looks amazing. In fact, it’s discolored, porous, fragile, and feels like rubber. Long time users I’m actually afraid to touch because the skin is like fragile glass. National Esthetician Day!
Happy Esthetician Day to me! ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ Since the day I got my license I haven’t stopped working for this industry, my business and brand and for you my clients, many who become family and friends.. The last 12 years has really defined my life; who I am, was, and what I’ve become. I’ve lived so many lives and I have changed more times than I can continue to count. As a new client reminded me yesterday, she said, “you can really tell that education and training is something that you love and really understand. You’re very passionate about it. You know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and for who.” It has not been easy to do all of this. I don’t know what the next 10 years holds, but I am grateful to be alive and for the opportunities that allow me to grow, change and make a difference. Thank you!

Social media has been reminding me of my hair three years ago and I’ve been going back-and-forth for months and I feel like when I look at those pictures I can see the energy and spirit of her and I love it! I stopped coloring my roots at the end of September 2022. Transitioning to your natural color takes A LOT of time. But it’s now at a point where I have 6 inches of natural roots and maintaining your old hair with new growth is work and so let’s cut the work and cut the hair! This year has been so interesting is all I can say. Pure joy. That’s where I am at. After being able to share this beautiful new space with the ladies and gentlemen who have supported myself and TRU over the last year, I can now officially say that yes @truesthetics_com has a new location! I really wanted this new design to exude a calm, peaceful, beautiful space, where your senses can relax and we can enjoy community and relationship! From the very first TRU beauty to walk in to the many since then, most everyone has given exactly the words and feelings I have wanted to evoke. Over the last year, I’ve been in this TRU transformation, not changing into somebody I’m not, but picking up the pieces of who I really am again. And who I want to continue to become. Most things that some told me not to do I am doing. Back on September 28, 2022, I decided not to color my roots again, and wanted to embrace a new chapter, to see what my natural hair could look like for various reasons.Don’t get me wrong. I love getting my hair done. I love how my hair looks in different shades of brown highlights, balayage, and when it was bleached in my version of blonde. I’ve loved it all. And I still see pictures of color where I’m like I would love to do this. And it’s been a struggle because deep down I feel like I won’t be going back there again, and I do think it’s beautiful when done right. So it’s definitely been a mental transition not just physical for sure but also part of my journey going forward is giving what I believe is TRUth in beauty. My why for everything has changed. There’s a huge stigma on silver hair especially for women, we equate hair length, color, how we part with youth, or old age or and even health. I want to be part of the audience that breaks this stigma. TRU story, I’ve actually had a spot in my hair that lost pigment when I was 22 and that spot is what in my mind made me feel like I needed to start coloring my hair when really I didn’t, and it had nothing to do with age, whether it was a genetic thing or just a predisposition of that part of my scalp. I felt like even at 22 that I needed to cover it up. And no one told me otherwise! Lately I’ve made some changes, and in every decision, detail, and new direction I have had the opportunity to look back on not only the last couple years, but the last decade and say wow not only have I accomplished and experienced a lot, I’ve risked a lot, I’ve changed a lot, and for a while I felt bad about myself like why was this my path.I’ve worked through all of these

What is a new client consultation official… Basically a must for new clients to true! If you need personalize education on your skin and skin care regimen. Whether you have had a facial before or does your first time at this facial and consult time allows us to get to know you and your skin! The service includes a detailed consultation and a customized facial with exfoliation, extractions, hydration and product application. This allows you to get started with us, see what’s happening with your skin and get on a plan! And as a reminder we are always excepting new clients, referrals are the best way to let us know that you love what we do! 🌱

If you are not sure what your schedule should be here is a good timeline to follow: BROWS: 4️⃣weeks: ✅If you have healthy hairs that continuously grow back after each service. ✅Lots of peach fuzz. ✅We are working on correcting and giving shape! 5️⃣to6️⃣weeks: ✅ if you have very thin brows that grow about 5-10 hairs altogether. ✅We will want to keep that brow shaped as it provides a more fuller look to yes even thin brows! After 8 weeks we are always starting over and you will never maintain a shape to the brows or style. It will be more for instant short term gratification. SKIN/FACIALS: 4️⃣weeks aka MONTHLY: ✅ if we are working on active correction to acne, pigment, aging. ✅you have scaring or pitted skin from acne and want to make a correction. ✅ you have tint texture bumps everywhere like the chin and forehead. Continuously get blackheads and clogged pores. ✅If you are 35-37 years old and your main concern is aging and prevention of poorly aging skin. 2️⃣to3️⃣weeks: ✅if you have severe acne and redness. Severe rosacea. ✅ You have neglected your skin for years and or this is the first time you are addressing major correction. ✅This window will get things looking much healthier sooner than later. And repair that barrier! 6️⃣to8️⃣weeks: ✅if you are about 32 or younger and have no major skin issues like acne. ✅This is the best maintenance schedule to make sure pores are cleaned out, black heads don’t build up and damage pores further ✅this is huge!
