As you know, Crisis Assistance Ministry was founded by faith leaders back in the 70s, and the faith community remains a vital part of our work today although we are now an independent nonprofit without faith affiliation. During this year’s Faith Partner Gathering, we heard from amazing faith partners, both old and new, and discussed how we can best serve our neighbors in need. We received fantastic feedback and shared inspiring ideas.
The staff’s compassion was praised by our faith partners for providing not only immediate assistance but also hope and dignity.
Here are a few snapshots from our recent conversations with the faith-based houses of worship.
We had the privilege of leading these remarkable Williams Montessori students through a hybrid Poverty Simulation to kick off their two week community-focused intersession. Then they brought their energy and problem-solving skills to the warehouse where they knocked out SO MUCH work preparing donated items for Free Store shoppers.
Thanks for taking time to consider the power of community, Trailblazers!
.Beyond the Bridge, in partnership with , Charlotte-Mecklenburg CoC, , and Charlotte Center City Partners, invites you to a film screening and conversation on Tuesday, November 19th. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the program begins at 6:15 PM.

Dot is a fighter. She's a mother, a caregiver, and a hard worker. She's faced unimaginable challenges over the past year, from family illnesses to financial struggles.
Despite it all, Dot has remained strong and hopeful. With your support, she's been able to keep her family afloat and rebuild her life.
Because of your generosity, Dot's story has a happy ending. Thank you for helping her and other neighbors in need.
is a beacon of support for families facing the challenges of pediatric cancer. We were honored to help donate 22 pairs of pink Adidas tennis shoes to LCI, helping children in need feel a little more comfortable and confident during their treatment journey.
Many of these families face financial hardships due to the overwhelming costs of medical care. This can leave them struggling to meet their other basic needs, like food, clothing, and housing. Donating these shoes is a small gesture that can make a big difference in the lives of these children and their families.
The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has left many Western North Carolina families without basic necessities like power, water, and heat. Our hearts go out to those impacted by this devastating event. At Crisis Assistance Ministry, we're committed to helping our neighbors in need. We're providing relief by collecting essential cold weather gear, such as coats, hats, gloves, and blankets. Your donations will help keep families warm and give a sense of comfort during this difficult time. Please help us show our support for our neighbors in Western North Carolina by donating winter essentials at our Donation Drive Thru or spreading the word about this urgent need.
How Can We Not Help? - Crisis Assistance Ministry Every year, we collect thousands of coats for distribution through our Free Store and Partner Agency Network. Temperatures have dropped while there are still thousands without power and/or water in about ¼ of our state. We can help keep people warm by sharing the cold weather gear—hats, gloves, c...
Feeling the love from (which can be felt through this neat pic😉)! Their donations from the Matthews Campus (8 pallets!) are a game-changer for our community. We're so grateful for their continued support. The Uptown Campus dropped off last week, and the Concord Campus is bringing a truckload next Thursday. Their kindness means the world. Thank you!
Just like a well-crafted latte, this team created a beautiful blend of compassion and hard work. Their dedication to sorting and hanging items for our neighbors is as inspiring as the intricate designs in a latte art masterpiece. Their positive energy has filled our building with the same uplifting spirit as a perfectly balanced cup of coffee. Thank you for all your support!

Our team members truly outdid themselves this Hispanic Heritage Month! We were honored to join them in celebrating the rich diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures. From learning about the unique histories of various countries to indulging in the most delicious authentic dishes, it was an unforgettable experience.

After a fall left her unable to work, Mariagrazia was facing a tough financial situation. Seeking help through partner agency the Latin American Coalition, she was connected to emergency financial assistance to bring her up to date on her rent. Because of this caring community, she and her family remained stably housed during her recovery until she could return to work (and a paycheck!) again.
Mariagrazia's story is a reminder that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. Thank you for supporting Mariagrazia and the 120 other families per day who seek help here.
