As the world faces uncertainty in the presence of Covid-19 let us at Whole Woman Doula present you with a few suggestions to help preemie parents through this difficult time.

*Be exceptionally cautious around preemies right now. Postpone visits if you can and be doubly aware of hand washing and germ exchange.

*DO NOT hoard formula. Preemies often need specialized formula to survive. Hoarding more than you can use may endanger the life of a premature baby.

*Help preemie parents. These are stressful times. As the medical knowledge of Covid-19 is continually changing, preemie parents are on even higher alert than usual. Don’t inundate them with information that isn’t reliable. Don’t overwhelm them with “what if’s”. Offer them safe, supportive help.

Most importantly use common sense and love.
