SLICK SAVES

Hi GK Peeps! Well, we’re not even all the way through all the NITs and I have had a revelation. I have to keep doing this! The people I am meeting, the sportsmanship and camaraderie I am witnessing, the athletic feats of goalkeepers of every level….these are my people and I am at home. People have been asking me, why just an Etsy site? Why not a website? The answer is simple. This venture started out with one parent asking the question, “Can you still make the sliders you used to make for your daughter?” My answer, “Well, sure.” Fast forward to today, and I have made nearly 200 pairs of sliders and shipped them all over the world. Oops! I think Slick Saves is a real business now. I enjoy it too much and there are too many avenues to explore. As soon as production slows after the U16 NIT I will be designing over-shorts for both indoor and outdoor wear, jerseys, and more. If you have a need for a particular accessory, just let me know. I am here for you.
I will also be developing a dedicated website for Slick Saves in the indoor off season and it will include a blog. I am a goalie mom who had zero field hockey experience before my daughter dragged me (kicking and screaming) into this wonderful sport. Why should we all make the same mistakes? I will share what I’ve learned in 9 years of goalkeeper parenting (best deodorizers, how to clean gear, shortcuts and hacks, recruiting tips, etc.) and I will try to find the best answers for any questions other GK parents and supporters have. Goalies are their own community. Those of us who love and support them should be also. Why should you listen to me? Maybe you shouldn’t. But I will share what I’ve learned in my journey from clueless mom who had to watch a YouTube video to dress my daughter for the first time, to occasionally savvy GK Mom. I have my moments. The amount of time that most of our kids get to play this sport is a blip on the radar. I want it to be the Best Blip in their memory. Um, while also helping to grow the sport for adults and post-collegiate athletes because it shouldn’t be “just a blip”….but that's a topic for a future blog post. ;-)

These 2-tone slicks can be “split” in so many ways. Symmetrical like these, asymmetrical like the traditional OBO Robo Hi Rebound leg guards, the n a zigzag fashion, S-curved…if you can dream it, we can do it! (Probably 😏)
