Cubaninsider, the best daily reports from and about Cuba.
Back in the 1940s & 1950s when major U. S. companies were making fortunes in the Mafia-run Batista dictatorship, the U. S. wildly encouraged TOURISM to Cuba. That's when American😀celebrities such as Al Capone, Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Nat King Cole, etc., etc. loved staying at famed Havana hotels such as the ultra-lengendary😂Hotel National. That all changed on January 1 of 1959 when the Cuban Revolution overthrew Batista, quickly creating what is now known as Little Havana in nearby Miami. That fascinating history brings us to November of 2023 when the U. S. economic Embargo/Blockade of Cuba, which began in 1962, still prohibits Americans from being tourists in Cuba and loudly discourages people in other nations to also NOT visit Cuba. Meanwhile, note above that -- EVEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2023 -- the fantastic Hotel National in Havana is STILL WINNING INTERNATIONAL AWARDS AS THE BEST LUXURY 🧐5-STAR HOTEL IN THE WORLD. Uh, WOW!!!!!!! Of course, it is vastly illegal for Americans to spend a penny at the Hotel National.😞
In January of 1959 the Cuban Revolution defeated the US/Mafia-backed Batista dictatorship and then in February of 1962 after the Bay of Pigs air-land-sea military attack in April of 1961 failed to overthrow Revolutionary Cuba, the U. S. imposed an economic Embargo/Blockade that was supposed to starve and deprive Cuba into QUICK submission. It hasn't happened. But after all these six+ decades later, on May 17th of 2023 the Cuban citizens ARE BEING TOLD that new 2023 U. S. cars will be sold in Cuba!!!!!!!! Wow...WOW. Amazing, REALLY AMAZING. Even incredible. INCREDIBLE, ETC.
