HAVE YOU CHECKED OR CHANGED YOUR AIR FILTER TO START OFF THE SCHOOL YEAR?
Tiny but mighty – air filters are an essential component of your HVAC system functions to prevent allergens, dust, loose air particles, and other airborne contaminants from infiltrating your home. Replace your HVAC system’s air filters every 30-60 days. Think of it as starting a new school year off with a fresh, clean slate!
How Can You Prepare Your HVAC System For Back To School?
Packed lunches, homework assignments, carpool rides – these are just a few things that surface in our minds when we hear the phrase “back-to-school.” For some people, the back-to-school season is bittersweet. Well, with the seasonal transition and the busyness of the year, it’s easy for your HVAC system to get forgotten during the back-to-school prep! Follow along with us in August, for some tips to get your system ready!
When a storm is approaching, be sure to secure any loose items, lawn furniture, or anything else that could blow around and damage the outdoor AC unit. Obviously, there is not much you can do about blowing or falling tree branches.
Any part of your home’s electrical system can be damaged by lightning during a storm. Modern HVAC systems contain sensitive electronics that can be easily damaged by a lightning strike. We recommend you install a surge protector (in addition to the home’s breakers) to prevent the devastating effect of lightning strikes. The surge protector takes the hit, not your AC!
Make sure you stay cool today, dehydration can sneak up on you. Wear shirts made of breathable fabric like cotton or synthetic fibers. If possible, find UPF-rated clothing to keep the sun’s rays off your skin. Clothes that absorb sweat will quickly become your go-to.
Happy 4th of July! Our office is Closed, today. A technician will be available if an emergency arises. We will be back to normal operational hours on Friday July 5th.
July is here, make sure to change your filter start the month off with a clean refreshing filter!
Don’t let heat buildup in your home. Appliances, electronic devices, and lighting are all common sources of internal heat gain. To combat this excess heat, avoid putting lamps or televisions near your air conditioner’s thermostat. These heat-generating appliances can cause the thermostat to think the house is warmer than it really is, resulting in the system running longer than necessary and wasting energy.
Congratulations!

Ceiling fans don’t create cooler temperatures, but they do distribute the air in the room more evenly and the breeze across your skin produces a wind chill helping you feel cooler. Without fans, your HVAC system has to run longer to cool your whole home. When you use a fan, make sure you are in the room, otherwise it serves no purpose as it doesn’t actually cool the air.
Make sure all your air vents are open to ensure airflow. Blocked air vents can decrease efficiency and cause your utility bill to rise and your system to work harder.
We will be closed for Memorial Day. If an urgent issue arises with your system, we do have a technician on call.
Student Athlete of the Week: Andy Xie Growing up, Andy Xie was asked a simple question. Do you want to play badminton or tennis? And he said the choice was pretty simple.
Leaving your blinds open lets sunlight into your home, increasing the temperature and making your system work harder. Close your blinds, to help with the temperature in your home.
Scheduling maintenance on your system will give you relief in knowing that your system is working and operating to its highest potential. If you haven't had your system checked please give us a call today!
A Surge Protector is an effective way to protect against a power surge that could damage your HVAC system. If you don’t have one, or need more information please give us call.
Clearing up the area around your outdoor HVAC system will help your unit perform efficiently. Debris such as tree limbs, leaves, mulch, and grass can cause your unit to work harder.
Warmer weather and sunny days are heading our way. Summer means lots of upcoming vacations, kids out of school, and outdoor fun. Neglecting your system could mean coming home to unnecessarily large energy bills, or a non-functioning unit. The next couple of days we will be sharing tips for preparing your HVAC system.

Student Athlete of the Week: Cooper Weiss Being the number 1 singles player on your team is pressure in itself. Add only two losses to that this year. That's what Cooper Weiss faces every time he steps on the court.
Student Athlete of the Week: Sydney Orange Being a wing back requires a ton of energy running the length of the soccer field, but that has never been an issue for Sydney Orange.
