Our favorite trail is memory lane, and on this adventure, we’re reflecting back on May of 2012 during Diane Van Deren’s MST expedition.

“With 63 miles to go, Diane Van Deren will catch her breath today and enjoy the Outer Banks that treated her so harshly the day before. Her plan as of 7:30 this morning is to put in 30 to 35 miles today, then finish her MST Endurance Run Friday morning. That would put her at 23 days and change, breaking the record Mountains-to-Sea Trail crossing of 24 days, 3 hours and 50 minutes set the year prior by Matt Kirk.

The recovery day is well-deserved after yesterday’s 50-mile-long battle with Tropical Storm Beryl, which regained strength and lingered into the evening on the Outer Banks.

“Yesterday,” support team member Joel Fleming said this morning, “Diane really proved why she’s a North Face athlete. She was a machine.”“

Our friends at Osprey have donated 100 backpacks to this mission, and we’ve been able to supply an additional 50 packs from The North Face! We’re excited to fill these packs with everything these kids need to get back to school and have a successful academic year. 🎒📓📝

Our final Triangle Spring Boat Demo at Lake Crabtree County Park is Thursday, June 20! GOPC afternoon Boat Demos are geared towards customers who have already narrowed down their choices after visiting one of our shops and feel that some on-water time prior to purchase is necessary. However, we also welcome folks who are just curious about kayaks & canoes and want to try it out in a low pressure environment. ☀️🛶

All that pesky plastic we get at the store was recently donated to Jackson Via Elementary who were collecting it to turn into a bench for the school. Here the 3rd graders make a human 1000 to celebrate reaching their goal of 1000 lbs of plastic that was needed. We're trying to minimize plastic waste & currently recycle almost all of it. Let us know if you have a plastic reuse project.

It's National Boat & Fishing week & we got Justin ready with his new Sportsman 106 & 120 PDLs, here's to many happy days of Father & Son fishing trips.

Talk about Carp Diem, am I right? The cicadapocalypse has worked its magic for Category Manager Scott & Paddlesports Operations Manager Austin!

After Scott & Austin wrapped up fly fishing classes for this season, they decided to try the challenge of catching the grass carp. Not having a big enough net wasn’t a problem. Austin waded out to pick it up and 15 minutes later, we have these pictures to prove it! 🙌
