Mike Kidd passed away peacefully at his home in Earlysville on October 6, 2023. He was born on November 17, 1952 to Vernon and Irene Kidd of Nelson County, VA. Mike is survived by his wife Becky Kidd, his brother Donald Kidd, two half-sisters – Betty White and Peggy Mawyer, best friend Trudy Yates, a number of nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.
For nearly five decades, Mike was well known as the owner of the Men’s and Boy’s Shop, the oldest men’s clothing store in Charlottesville. Many of his customers will miss him tremendously, just as he missed his customers in the last months of his life when his illness made returning to the store impossible. He was also a lover of all animals and always enjoyed the company of his Maine C***s and other feline friends. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Cat Action Team of Charlottesville (catactionteam.org)
