Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I grew up in Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. I have always loved change and I wanted to go to school somewhere far away from my hometown, so I went to the University of South Carolina where I studied Biology. With that degree, I moved to Savannah, GA and worked at a marine science center where I taught about the coastal ecology of GA and was the lead aquarist and husbandry assistant for the animals in our gallery. I have always been a lover of animals and nature, so in my free time you can find me in my garden or playing with my cats and dogs. Since leaving Georgia, I have been looking for a new direction in the professional world and am excited to see where this new path takes me.

I have lived in the Greater Chattanooga Area for over 30 years. I love the friendly people, outdoor fun, and picturesque views. There is no other place I would rather call home. Although I love travel and seeking out adventure, my biggest love is spending time with my family at home.

1. Why did you choose to be in real estate?
I have been in education as a teacher and instructional math coach for the past 13 years. I started my career in real estate part-time and fell in love with helping people navigate through the process of finding their home. I knew that I wanted to start a full-time career in real estate when I was able to help a family realize that instead of renting, they could achieve home ownership. I’m eager to help many more families find that place they can call home.

Why did you choose to be in real estate?
When I was younger, I had a cleaning service where I got to see all sorts of beautiful homes that I only dreamed of owning. It fascinated me to see the different architectural designs! I never knew home ownership was in reach, but once I realized it was, I knew I wanted to help others realize it too! I mentioned to my husband that I wanted to become a realtor but I didn’t think I could do it. Joel immediately signed me up for classes.

We felt that we were lacking connection with our last brokerage, so we started interviewing brokers- you know how serious we are about coaching with Tom Ferry! The broker of this company was actually a coach with Tom Ferry. We initially wanted to just take our team to the brokerage, but, while interviewing, the broker asked if we would consider joining his team. At first, it hurt because we had worked so hard on our brand and team, but once we heard what he offered, we were blown away! We knew that we couldn’t offer that to our agents or our clients. We knew it was the right thing to do for our clients and team growth. It would have been selfish to know all that is here and not offer this to our clients and agents. It was a win-win for our family, agents, and our clients!

I joined the Army at age 19 because I was working a third shift job that I felt was draining the life out of me. I knew there was a whole wide world out there that I wanted to see, so the Army accommodated by sending me to Korea, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Germany. I retired in 2017 after 21 years of service and wouldn't change it for anything.

Why did you choose to be in real estate?
I retired from the Army after 21 years, so I had to figure out what I was going to be when I grew up. I prayed a lot about what I was going to do now that I was done soldiering, so I started applying for positions. The first place I applied and wanted to work at was a shipping company because they did a lot of "out of the box" approaches to running their business, but they wanted me to work in far away states which was a deal breaker for me. Next, I applied to a financial services company and went almost all the way through the process when I received an email saying that I was not going to be hired and it was their policy not to say why. Next, I applied at a flooring company where I was definitely a shoo-in because I had a lot of contacts there, but I could not get my foot in the door. So it was obvious to me that I was being led elsewhere. That's when Ginger suggested that I work with her in real estate. Reluctantly, I went through the classes, passed the test the first time I took it, and that's when I felt I had arrived.�
