Have you noticed all of the trending haircuts and their exotic names?? (For example, the jellyfish, wolf cut, etc.) Some think it’s silly and unnecessary, however I think it’s FUN! I did a series on the ⏰ app on trending haircuts, so I decided to touch on one haircut I’ve really enjoyed over the past year: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐭 🦋

This haircut is composed of tons of fluttery layers and most importantly a face frame that brings on allll the drama ✨ You can incorporate curtain bangs or even keep the face framing at chin length. This haircut works for multiple lengths varying from shoulder - long.

I love that no matter how specific a haircut may seem, it is always sooo customizable when it comes to length, texture, styling, and coloring! I’ve provided a few examples of how different the “same” haircut can look and feel! 🤗

It’s pretty common to experience these feelings when either walking into a new salon or meeting a new stylist for the first time! This is why when you come to me whether it’s the first time, or the hundredth time, I always begin with a thorough consultation to discuss what’s going right with your hair, what you’d like to change, what your goals are, your desired maintenance, etc. to help you feel more at ease.

Just taking a little extra time to get to know one another and to learn about your hair goals is so important to me!

I moved to Chattanooga at the end of 2021 from Key West, FL where my husband and I were stationed while he was in the Air Force. We are both originally from the Memphis, TN area.

I have 2 Dachshunds named Draper and Dax so you’ll hear me talk about them often and you can find them in the slide above 🐾

I have been in the hair industry since 2012 😮 and I am so proud and so grateful for where my career has taken me and the incredible community it has introduced me to.

I love ALL things art whether that’s jewelry making, painting, air dry clay, etc. Fun fact I made the melting disco ball you see in my studio! 🪩

I could totally chat your ear off about books (my current read is Fourth Wing), and spooky shows (current obsession The Fall of The House of Usher.) I love cozy games and right now my favorite is Disney Dreamlight Valley. 💫

During the cooler months, dry hair and scalp can be a common issue. Here are some tips to help you treat and prevent dryness:

1. Hydrate from within: Drink plenty of water to keep your body and hair hydrated.

2. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner: Look for products specifically designed to hydrate and nourish dry hair. Avoid shampoos with harsh sulfates that can strip away natural oils.

3. Limit heat styling: Excessive heat can further dry out your hair. Try to minimize the use of hot tools like hair dryers, straighteners, and curling irons.

4. Deep condition regularly: Treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment once a week to replenish moisture and restore shine. (A couple of favorites are hydrating mask & 5 minute liquid mask)

5. Protect your hair from the cold: Wear a hat or scarf to shield your hair from the cold and harsh winds. This will help prevent moisture loss and protect your scalp.

6. Avoid overwashing: Washing your hair too frequently can strip away natural oils, leading to dryness. Aim to wash your hair every 2-3 days or as needed.

7. Use a leave-in conditioner: Apply a leave-in conditioner or hair oil to damp hair to provide extra hydration and protection throughout the day.

8. Avoid hot showers: Hot water can strip away the natural oils from your scalp and hair. Opt for lukewarm or cool water when washing your hair.

Remember, consistency is key when it comes to treating dry hair and scalp. Stick to a regular hair care routine and be patient as it may take some time to see noticeable improvements. 🤍
