This year’s Solstice is just a few days away! ☀️ Comment below: What are you doing to say farewell to Spring?
Here are some ideas to live seasonally and make the most of Summer 😎
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Spring correlates to the Wood element, and the Liver/Gallbladder organ system, which plays a big role in the circulation of Qi (energy) and blood, as well as digestion.
The Liver ensures the smooth flow of Qi and Blood around the body. It assists in digestion, stores blood, and helps us to process emotions. Stress and a sedentary lifestyle can disrupt this smooth flow and create ‘stagnant’ energy, which can manifest as headaches, IBS, or mood swings. Spring is a great time to get moving after a restful winter and get the juices flowing.
This is a great time to start exercising more, but not over-doing it! The days can still be quite chilly so keep warm and stay hydrated when you’re out and about. With the renewed energy we have after the long dark winter, we can start new projects, especially creative ones. The great outdoors, ‘forest-bathing’, and gardening can all benefit the Liver system and prevent issues caused by Liver Qi stagnation.

We’re talking meridians, and some of the most important ones are to come! Make sure to check out Part 1, posted earlier this week!
👩✈️ The Liver Meridian
The liver is considered one of the primary organs in TCM. It is called the “Chief of Staff” or the “General”. This is in part because the liver transforms nutrients into usable substances that the body uses for energy, but also because it detoxifies the blood!
The liver meridian is in charge of the peripheral nervous system as well as the ligaments and tendons. Hypertension and the inability to relax are thought to be caused by an imbalance in the liver meridian.
🫗 The Bladder Meridian
The bladder is referred to as the “Minister of the Reservoir.” While the organ stores and eliminates liquid waste, it also serves to balance the autonomic nervous system. This is in part because the bladder meridian spans the height of the body and runs alongside the spine. The bladder plays a role in regulating the sympathetic and parasympathetic responses.
If you’ve made it this far, leave a _ below - you deserve it! (Cont’d in comments…)
SAAT (Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment) is a groundbreaking solution for those with food allergies - but you don’t have to take our word for it! Our patient, Johnny Thornton, joined Dr. Jes on 3 Plus You to talk about life AFTER Alpha Gal. Check it out at the 🔗 in our bıo! 🥩 🍔 🍖

Did you know your body is a superhighway of vital energy? Welcome back to another one of our weekly !
Meridians are a circulatory system of energy, much like the circulatory system of blood - but instead of blood, meridians allow the flow of a vital energy called Qi (“chee”). We’ll focus on the 12 Principal Meridians - half of which we’re talking about today!
♥️ The Heart Meridian
The “King of the Organs,” the heart is the source of the vital essence. It commands all of the other organs and emotions. It works with other organs to regulate circulation and maintain a healthy mental state. If the heart is imbalanced, all the other organs and meridians will suffer. It is also seen as primary in the defense against disease.
🫁 The Lung Meridian
It is called the “Prime Minister” and assists with controlling energy and circulating the blood. The lungs and the heart are seen to work in conjunction with blood and energy, being complementary parts of the living system. The lungs also control the skin and perspiration.
🍽️ The Stomach Meridian
The stomach is in charge of elemental balance. Called the “Sea of Nourishment” and the “Minister of the Mill,” it is the start of digestion. The stomach is tasked with extracting the energy from food and beverages. Working with the spleen, the stomach transports the energy throughout the Meridian System.
🫘 The Kidney Meridian
In TCM, the kidney is seen as one of the most important organs. This organ includes the adrenal glands and the s*x glands of men and women. It is known as the “Minister of Power” as well as the “Root of Life.” It is tasked with storing the prenatal energy as well as the essential vital energy for life. The kidney also works at regulating the brain and plays an important role in the formation of memories and rationality.
