What happens when a culture abandons God and promotes godlessness? Paul answers this question in Romans 1.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Independence Day as a church at our annual community celebration last week. So thankful for the many people who brought food to share! May we reflect upon our nation’s freedom and the freedom offered by our Savior.

Our God specializes in deliverance!

Solomon once reflected,

"Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour."- 1 John 2:18

Though the final Antichrist has not yet appeared, the spirit of Antichrist has been in the world a long time. This demonic spirit finds its source in Satan himself and has possessed many throughout human history.

Jude mentions 3 of these men in the passage we studied this morning- Cain, the false prophet, Balaam, and Korah. He uses them as examples of how false teachers reflect the same deceiving spirit. Jude sends his message clearly- Church, be on the lookout for wolves!

This statement summarizes the entirety of the period of the Judges- the men and women God called to deliver His people. Often, what is "right in our own eyes" is in direct conflict with what the Lord calls good.

Through our series in Acts, we have gained insight and confidence on how the early church lived the light of the gospel in a dark culture. As the elect of God, may we be found reflecting their faithfulness.

This morning, we concluded our series in Acts: The Missional Church. We looked at how Paul ministered in Rome, and learned how the true church continues to be faithful to the mission today. Though the redemptive mission will end when Christ returns to gather all of His elect, the story of salvation in Jesus, the Lamb of God, is never-ending!
