Cheektowaga Dog Control
Just a reminder it is NYS law that all dogs over the age of 4 months must be licensed. In order to obtain a dog license your dog needs a current rabies vaccine. Here’s an opportunity to get a rabies vaccine, other beneficial vaccines and a microchip at a greatly reduced cost.

Update - Moose has been adopted and found his forever home.
Meet Moose! Moose was dumped off at our facility with no information on where he came from, but what can we say this handsome young guy is darn right cute, friendly and just full of love. Moose is approximately 1.5 years old and looking for his forever home. If you are interested in meeting Moose and providing him a forever home, please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment.
Update - Leo has been adopted and found his forever home.
Meet Leo! Leo came to us slightly underweight and needed some time to recover with us. Leo’s owners did not come forward to claim him and as a result he is now available adoption. Leo is approximately 6 months old. Due to the overwhelming response, the fact we do not have open office hours and the interest in his adoption those interested must schedule an appointment to meet him, fill out an adoption application and those with other dogs in the home must schedule a meet and greet. Those that are approved to adopt, their names will be entered into a pool and a name will be drawn at random. If you are interested in meeting Leo and possibly providing him a forever home, please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment. Please note Leo is currently in surgery being neutered and will not be available to meet the public until 7/26/24. Meets and adoption applications will close end of business on Saturday August 3rd.
Update - transferred to the SPCA Serving Erie County.
Hi friends, my name is Stella. Can I ask a question? Have you ever seen such a cute face? If you think I am as cute as I do why don’t you make an appointment to meet me and give me my forever home I’ve only dreamed of. A little about me is I came in very underweight and timid, but my care providers here at Cheektowaga Dog Control have provided me lots of food, treats, toys, love and enrichment. I have come out of my shell and I’m eager to meet you and show you how wonderful I am. I am approximately 10 months old and very pro social with other dogs. If you are interested in meeting me and providing me that loving forever home don’t wait, call 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment so I can find my way into your heart.

Meet Phoebe. Phoebe came to us as a stray in which no owner came forward to claim her. She is an absolute sweetheart, but fearful at first and certainly not enjoying being in a full, loud kennel. Phoebe would do best in a quieter home in which the adopter has time to provide her the comfort and security she needs to come out of her shell. If you are interested in meeting Phoebe please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment.

Update - we provided you hugs, kisses, treats, love, enrichment toys, lick mats, baths, blankets, a bed and everything we could possibly think of. The one thing we couldn’t provide is a home environment and a kennel certainly isn’t a home no matter how much love we provide. It is with the utmost elation that we can say we found you your forever home and Mikey has been adopted. Live your best life Mikey you deserve it, love your Cheektowaga family.
Meet Mikey, a timid, but very sweet and well mannered pup lacking his full confidence. A little history about Mikey is humanity failed him, not once, but at least twice that we are aware of. Mikey was abandoned by his foster home and the rescue who placed him in said foster home is not interested in claiming him. However, we here are not willing to give up on this very well mannered pup. Mikey is dog selective and as a result must have a meet and greet if there is another dog in the home. If you feel you are the perfect fit for this amazing pup and are willing to show him not all of humanity will fail him, please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment to meet this handsome guy.
Update - this lovely lady is on her way to the SPCA Serving Erie County to find her forever home.
What can we say about this older, sassy gal other than she would love to find her forever home. Meet Bea a fun and treat loving older lady who would love to call your home hers. We are saddened that no one claimed her and just because she’s older doesn’t mean she’s short on love. Let this gem find her way into your heart. If you are interested in meeting Bea and potentially providing her a forever home please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment.
It is a NYS requirement to license your dog once 4 months of age or older. A current rabies vaccine is required to obtain a dog license. Here is an opportunity to get that vaccine and many more at a greatly discounted rate.

We are once again over capacity with no open kennels or overflow kennels available. Please consider adopting one of our available dogs. Dogs that are still under stray hold will be posted as available when their stray hold time clears. Thank you to those who did come forward and adopt 4 of our dogs last week.
How can this sweetheart have had no interest? When posted as lost we avoided showing all angles of this sweet angel to avoid judgment being passed without knowing all the facts. Seeing as no one has reached out to claim her and she is available for adoption let us tell you a little more about her.
This amazing, sweet and resilient pup came to us on the 4th of July with the massive, still healing, scar seen in these photos. The scar is believed to be a result of either scalding water or hot oil. We cannot determine if this was accidental or intentional, but we can say for certain whoever tended to this burn took excellent care of it to prevent infection. The scar is almost fully healed and just has some minor granulating tissue left to fully scar over.
This gem is in search of her forever home who will understand she is equally beautiful inside and out. Will understand that she wears this scar with all her beauty to show how resilient she is at the same time how much she needs constant companionship as she spins in circles as she runs out to the play yard to make sure you are right behind her and how much she just loves to curl up next to you and share her love.
If you are interested in meeting this angel and providing her the forever home she deserves please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment.
We are at max capacity and have many available dogs for you to meet. If you are interested in adopting any of our dogs and providing them a forever home please contact Cheektowaga Dog Control at 716-686-3525 to schedule an appointment.
